IH-729-PUR - Cotton Easy Shorts - Purple

So the waist on XL sits at 34". Is this expected to stretch out to a larger dimension? Whats the range in the waist? I am also a 36.5" waist. Was really hoping to grab a pair of these.

Yeah also a little bit curious about what size to order, 36 waist in jeans, id guess XL, but i also dont have huge thighs so would prefer L for the other measurements, just not sure if theyd stretch enough

I just compared the XL measurements of the olive ones to my 38 double front shorts and they seem very similar except for the waist and I imagine that a elastic waist will stretch enough and if it stretches too much then that's why you have the drawstring.

Do these shorts stretch at all or is it closer to a khaki/denim material? 13.5” thigh is a tight fit on the xl.

They fabric does not stretch because it is not under tension. Or if it is, you have way undersized and they will look awful. They are supposed to be a relaxed/easy fit.
If I stick a load of shit in my pockets, then I need to crank up the drawstring because the elastic is not man enough to hold them up.

@Giles I have an olive one in M and sized down on the purple just because of this.
If I was on the taller end of M I wouldn’t size down as it would be a pain to pull them up over my buttocks - it‘s kind of tricky already but only because I‘m too lazy to untie the drawstring every time.
However, no stretch at all.

@SourPower I can't see any reason why we wouldn't be able to upgrade the snaps on these with any of our heavy duty snaps (14mm for Good Art) but please Consider that this would make them Non-returnable and we do not stock the original snaps here so se would be unable to switch them back.

Can someone at IH or a stockist who wears a 36.5" IH waist try these on(XL) monday and let us know the fit? Seems the easiest gauge. Only following this and the khaki groups and I have not seen this done(doesn't mean I didn't miss it) Not worried at all about the thigh as I'm a chicken legged man.

@CosmoSix5 Hi! I have a true waist of 36.0/36.5" ish, so will chuck the XL's on for some reference in terms of the fit.

@CosmoSix5 XL fit reference. The waist is very comfortable in an XL from the off with no real need to tighten drawstring any further but has the option if wanting a slightly 'closer' fit. I hope this helps!
