@Jerry3times I haven’t handled the fabric of the 424 in person. But referring to the pictures @Nick provided in the thread, they both evolve beautiful and fast.
This is what Adam Welch wrote about:
“The complexity of the weave, the cut, the luxuriously light yet impervious fabric of the 424, and the fabulous fade potential make this a competitive complement to the 12oz Wabash. Any conscious connoisseur would undeniably need both.”To dig deeper, look at this faded Wabash or this indigo Herringbone.

Looking to chase after some vintage fades. Anybody try washing their denim on high spin? I realize a lot of indigo streaming is from washing improperly, ie not flipping inside out and not pre-soaking before wash. If I take my precautions I can probably blast them in the washing machine though yeah?
-
@freepickin. I never used the high spin cycle of my washer, but I regularly use the medium spin cycle and nothing bad has ever happened.
-
@freepickin I was,and have been washing all my IH gear with absolute impunity, and disregard as to spin cycle etc. I’m not a fan of contrasty fades and all of my IH jeans have old school vintage fades. When they had the theme week,I posted my two oldest, most faded pairs,if you want to take a look.

@sabergirl tumble dryer! Fortune favours the brave.. I am still in the drip dry camp

-
My 10 cents worth. Vintage fades are achieved by lots of wear and frequent washing and being drip dried. Vintage fades are not caused by minimal wear and then aggressively washing and putting in the spin or tumble dryer. Nothing wrong with either approach, but they give different results.
Much like naval ratings don't waiti until the end of a posting to drop their N1 at the local dry cleaners, I don't suppose the cowboys of old had much access to tumble dryers.

I really fancy fading a new denim jacket this spring and summer. However, there aren’t really any new drops in the near future, are there?

Why am I thinking about the Village People having a party in a laundromat?

@RobeOfTheMagi Well, funny you was thinking this, as we do have a new denim jacket coming out for Spring Summer 26, here is a link to the product page below, absolutely delightful for spring summer with the blend of fabrics.

@RobeOfTheMagi the 122 and 123 are coming out too (14oz indigo/OD work jackets)
-
@northsouthdenimguy thank you for your input. I was thinking something similar regarding the temperature. I’m eagerly expecting the 8.5 but also think that I’ll definitely grab the 12oz if it becomes available before I run out of money
.
How would you describe how the different fabrics feel/compare? -
@Aetas I was hoping that someone would recommend owning both!

-
@Jett129 which IH jeans are those? I like the width at the bottom.
My 633s are a little too wide for my taste and will be looking for something with a little narrower taper but that isn’t also a skinny jean -
@Jerry3times Both of those are 555s from about 14 years ago. If you would like I can check any measurements so you have some point of reference when you start looking. They are both a Tag size 36.
