UTILITEES - 10oz Heavyweight Crew Neck T-Shirt

To all the size queries - it depends how you want them to fit. These were designed to fit big, so my H T size is XL, and if I take an XL in these then they fit me slightly over sized, as designed. I can also wear a L and they fit me more like an IHT-1600 fits me
This is my sample, have had for about 6 months. Many wears, many washes, no tumble drys to my knowledge. XL, and fits as I wanted it to - oversized. I can wear a Large, and will post comparison pics when @AdamC goes to get himself one as he loves his black so much.

I am an XL in IH 6.5oz, L in IH 7.5oz and an M in these to achieve a similar fit
Edited, I assume correctly, for clarity
-
@Alex I prefer the large, for whatever that matters.

To echo what a few others have said, I sized down from my typical IH tee size of L to a M for this. The end result is a similar fit and I'm happy with that decision. The neck hole is definitely a bit snug, though not uncomfortable. The outside of the shirt is not out of the ordinary from what I would expect, but the inside is altogether different.

This most recent run of black features new Kurashikizome dying techniques (along with all the new colours). The few remaining of the previous run can still be found here

Just recieved a black and an indigo one - great shirts. The hand is firmer than I expected (and much firmer than feared), and the texture of the fabric I quite interesting. The outside is quite smooth and the shirt feels light (a lot lighter than the 11oz IH ones), but the fabric still feels substantial and drapes well. I totally get the hype!
As to why they didn’t sell fast - I’m a sample size of one, but I skipped them at first due to the name. I automatically assumed that the fleece would be the usual polyester, and thought the shirt would be a combination of cotton and fleece, not at fleece made from cotton. I only bought because I stumbled on this thread.

That's an interesting take, thank you.

So I’ve been wearing one of these pretty much every day since I recieved them (I wear dress shirts for work and change when I get home), and have put them both though their first wash.
I recommend them very highly:
I have a lot of “standard” utilitees. I wear them as undershirts daily, and for me they strike the balance between price and quality.
But these heavyweights are (sample size of two) at least as well made. And for me the cut is amazing. I pack a decent beer belly, so the “tight white” t-shirt isn’t flattering on me. But these slightly oversized heavyweights are perfect. They drape rather than hug the body - without making you look like you chose the wrong size.

Any plans for a long sleeve version? Would love that.

Do these get much softer with wear and wash? Just curious, I've worn the black (original version) for a total of 1 day so far, and I'm not sure I like the way it feels. The seams on the ribs and under arms are pretty rough (all of the interior feels rough, actually), I think because the arm holes are so big that the 4 way seam comes together right where the lat muscle stands out the most against my inner arm. This one might be a catch and release for me unless they soften significantly. Any feedback on that?

@indigo_fades mine do not feel any noticeably different however I appreciate it's largely subjective. I did not notice it being overly coarse to begin with
