I'm a denim and leather lover to the core. I sew and make bags and other soft goods on the side, and also enjoy working with newer tech fabrics as well. All materials have their place and can be quite useful. However, nothing beats natural options! I love knowing that something is only getting better as I wear or use it. I have an office job as the COO of a nonprofit working with people coming out of a lifestyle of addiction, and I see myself in many of their faces. I know that anything can get out of hand for anyone and become an addiction - that's why I wanted to be a part of this community, rather than simply a consumer of more and more products. I enjoy IH for the longevity and delayed gratification, and I'd like to model my life around that concept.

    • RE: IRON HEART WAYWT - 2026 EDITION

"I've always wondered what this day would feel like" is something I've thought several times today, wondering if there was anything specific I could capture to carry with me. Today marks 10 years since I put down heroin for the last time, and honestly today what I feel is the same gratitude I had at 1, 2, 3 years, etc. (For me) It turns out there's no magic number for happiness, it's simply remembering to be grateful, regardless of the day or the occasion.

This IHSH-07 Hickory Stripe is one of my absolute favorite pieces, and I am grateful that I was able to purchase it here on the forum. Sometimes a second chance can really bring a thing to life!

      Snow-8.jpg

The snow came, and brought a lot more than we expected. Doesn't snow here often (maybe once every 4-5 years), so we're pretty excited lol
Dog is very excited. 12 inches is insane.

      Hoodie: 3sixteen Heavyweight

Been thoroughly enjoying the colors on the new UHF. It's the perfect cool weather companion, much like my little friend here. The UHF will likely be a go-to for evening rides/walks for the next few months. Now I need to get a western cut. I wish so bad this blue was as slim as a western!

How I spent most of my day, waiting for the snow to come. Where I live we're lucky to get 1 snowfall per year, and even luckier if it accumulates at all. Here we are a few hours later with 6 inches; the most I've seen in 10 years since I moved here!

With all this hurricane weather coming in on the coast, it seems to be cooling off a bit these past couple of days. This is the first morning I've been able to sit on the front porch with the pup for more than 5 minutes without sweating through my clothes. Really looking forward to the fall & winter seasons.

@Indigo-Alchemist Taking inspiration from you and @SamD for the flannel & untucked with yet another IH layer! Sitting in a corporate leadership class all day feeling smugly superior to all these regular ol' button up shirts 😁

Freaking love the slub type 3. It's as comfortable as sashiko fabric with even better fading potential, and probably the best fitting piece I've had by Iron Heart overall.

This IHSH-361 is still in its first few wears, and I'm loving how rigid this thing is. No idea how long it will take to soften, but I'm sure it will be a satisfying result. It will be nice when the shoulders don't rise up to my ears when I sit down anymore 😁

Pants are Simple & Raw 23oz Milestone
Boots are Grant Stone Field Boots in Saddle Tan (the best version IMO!)

Figured I'd try breaking in the 361 now that it's cooling off since I've yet to acquire a good flannel. Waiting for the right one, I suppose!

@GuyForget Whew talk about necro! Nice pull.
Good jacket too, man. That's a pretty amazing find! The reason I'm here though is for that shirt underneath! Is it the SDA 13oz Kakishibu? I've had my eye on that whole lineup (the 13 and 16oz pieces) for a while now. Love it.

Bump bump bump, bump it up!

Also willing to trade, if someone happens to have a UES Slub that's a little large for them, and is in the size 2-3 range (around 21.4" - 21.9" chest). Not probable, but worth a shot!

    • RE: Leather jackets

@mecken88 This might be the best looking leather jacket I've ever seen. Perfect break in. Never really got into leather jackets much until last year, picked up a field jacket natural from MSC and even though I love it I'm looking for something more like this Y'2 beauty. Time to break out of an almost exclusively cotton wardrobe by this fall!

Everyone's favorite activity: yard work. Although I do despise the heat, it's nice to get out and be productive around the house again. It's 84⁰ all of a sudden. Time to acclimate!

Pants are from one of Bronson's sister companies. A little lighter weight, much looser fit than my usual 634. My first wear with these and so far they are good in the heat! It helps that I got them for free due to an issue in their warehouse so I feel the need to really put them to use out of appreciation

    • Buzz Rickson's Yellow Sweatshirt Large, Size 40-42. $85

PayPal FF preferred, G&S accepted if you want to cover the extra few bucks. Letting this go for $85, shipped to Cont. US. from North Carolina

This fairly lightweight sweatshirt is in excellent condition (possibly new, bought second hand and never wore it) and is tagged size 40, which matches up everywhere for me except the length. It has that vintage cropped fit, best to wear with high waisted pants. A bit short, IMO. More like a small medium in length (see length measurement photo)

      Measurements:
      Pit to pit width: 22in.
Length (from bottom of collar): 22.8in.
Raglan sleeve, no no shoulder seams, but it fits my 18 inch shoulders well. Total sleeve length from the collar is about 29 in.

    • UES Slub Flannel Size 2

UES Slub Flannel is lighter than the IH Slub flannel, and I got it for warmer spring months but it is just too small for me.
Looks new to me, but hard to tell with slub fabric for sure. I can't find any evidence of it being worn. No rolling at bottom hem or anything.
Colors are sort of a pinkish beige, white, green, and brown.

Size Measurements (seems close to a size small in Iron Heart flannels):
Length (from bottom of collar): 26in.
      Pit to pit: 20.25in.
Shoulder width: 17.25in. straight across, 17.6in. the IH way
      Sleeve length: 24.8in.

      $130 Shipped to Cont. US
Usually use PayPal FF, no problem with G&S if you want to cover the extra few bucks.

Any questions, etc feel free to message

    • RE: Short Guy CPO Hemming

Agree with @Giles and @Go-For-Chill on sewing being a skill anyone can likely pick up for simple alterations like this. I've put together an entire industrial sewing shop in my garage just keeping an eye out on Facebook marketplace for the past couple years. For all 4 machines (with tables) and even upgrading two of them to servo motors, I've invested a total of $500. While I spent $600, I've gained a life long skill and saved myself, my friends, and my family no less than $2k in alterations costs and I've been able to keep things I would otherwise need to return or resell. Just two nights ago I brought in one of my favorite Iron Heart sweatshirts (IHTB-12-GRY) to keep it from draping so much around the waist, and there's nothing more satisfying than putting on a garment that fits perfectly, knowing it's sized just for you, by you.
It's also opened up a whole other size of shirts I'm able to buy on the second hand market vs being limited to searching for specific dimensions.
      10/10 recommend.

    • RE: SDA - Studio D'Artisan

@dugafola Anyone tried this with the Kakishibu Sashiko jacket? Unsure about how shrink might affect the sashiko stitching, but I wouldn't mind with bringing it up and in just a bit.
