In all seriousness I dont know, they are both incredible shirts. I love how the overdyed denim looks with a pair of indigo trousers though

@Bailey does this mean there might be a limited restock of the OD version as we’ll (fingers crossed)!

@CosmoSix5 shortening by 5mm? Sure but does 5mm matter that much? Shortening by 1-2" is not "so" basic... You either end up with really short and unbalanced placket, either placket has to be moved.. at least when it comes to dress shirts, shortening from shoulder is really not recommended...

These are sincere questions: are y’all really this OCD about your shirts? Real talk—do you inspect every single garment you have and obsess over it if something looks slightly off? Does it ruin your enjoyment of the item in question?

@sabergirl , with the price being paid for these garments: Yes.

I have a second job in retail, and see all kinds of nonsense from Levis. When paying literally tenfold for an IH shirt, you have expectations. Mine has the pocket misalignment issue, but not to the point where it slows me down from tossing it on, but I can see where it would upset others.

It’s definitely an error on some as I have never noticed this before and yes, when you are paying that amount of money (or any amount) it should be right. You wouldn’t accept a new car with a small dent for example.

So it’s the price that really drives you to expect perfection? Is this type of thing just part of for the course with a Levi’s garment, for example?

For me personally, regardless of the brand if the item if it’s not perfect I’m not going to wear it. Once I notice something it will forever bother me. But the fact that this shirt is $400 definitely makes it worst.

@sabergirl I would say price is a factor. I’m not OCD and wear plenty of imperfect items. But I would expect a 400.00 shirt to have straight pockets. Mine is only really noticeable buttoned up and and more so folded. I kept it and I love it. However, people being bothered and wanting to possibly exchange it isn’t being OCD, it’s wanting what everyone else has purchased and come to expect from IH. It’s their most popular shirt. Is that a big ask? I don’t think anyone who received one and is bringing attention to the issue is in the wrong for wanting a mostly symmetrical shirt.

I definitely couldn’t do a better job, but I’m also not being paid to.

These pieces are made by humans, and there obviously needs to be a certain allowable margin of error. Just wondering where you draw the line? That shirt would bother me - not that I would want it to.

I had similar concerns and emailed about my Big Buck - I was told they’re all off. A quarter inch might not sound huge, but when pocket-to-placket on one side is only half an inch, we’re talking more than a 50% increase to get to over three quarters of an inch on the other side. That’s a big difference to me, and hard not to look at….

I’m not sure that I know where I would draw the line—hence my curiosity. I suppose I’ve been lucky so far that none of my shirts have this issue. Or, I just haven’t noticed. Knowing myself, I expect I just haven’t noticed.

I appreciate everyone weighing in. I suppose my invocation of OCD is triggering to folks due to stigma about mental illness, and I apologize if anyone felt called out, it wasn’t my intention.
