Honestly I kind of just changed preferences. I like the clean look of no yokes, larger armpit openings, gussets etc. Probably because I’m so old as was pointed out.

I have 2 IH Work shirts, and the only reason I have them is because they have snaps. There have been some shirts where the work shirt sizing would’ve been better than the western shirt, and I ultimately passed on said shirt.

@jordanscollected I think work shirts are getting more popular, but we still make more western shirts than work shirts, so sales data will still show westerns being more popular than works..

Almost 55 and westerns all day. Snaps ftw ... and they are like IH's version of the Thundershirt lmao.

Supposedly snaps were originally put on shirts so that when cowboys were out on the range for extended periods of time, they wouldn’t have to sew buttons on shirts, should they come off. Oh Snap!

@Mizmazzle Work shirts rarely work for me. When the length is right it's usually too wide and sloppy looking. When the width is right it's too short. Ive got a couple of work shirts among many westerns, so that's definitely my preference. I also have the good fortune of being semi-in-between-sizes for Western cuts, so I normally go up the half size to XL in UHF for a more comfy fit and down the half size to things in harder faced denser fabrics like denim or serge.

This is all 100% me, too. Same sizing and everything. I also prefer a little extra room in the shoulders, so generally go up to an XL.

                    Wants List:
                    IHSH-20-Red, XL
                    IHSH-208-Indigo Kersey, L-XL
                    IHSH-254-Grey Kersey, L-XL
                    IHSW-45 Black, M
                    IH-526SV 21oz type III, 38 or 40
                    IH-777S-SB size 32
                    IH-777S-142 size 31 or 32

Same here. Buttons on my jeans and snaps on the shirts.

Oh yea, I can’t stand buttons on shirts either. I don’t mind bigger buttons, but smaller ones NOPE.

In my previous life as a firefighter and emt, some of us would have a zipper installed under the placket of our shirts and glue the buttons on top.

@Alex How are you approaching/communicating the new overdye method with retailers and customers? Just wondering if there's a worthwhile story to tell about sustainability, or if someone will notice the non-oxidized hardware after purchase and have a "hey, wait a minute?!" moment.

@Giles Pretty much what I expected to hear, but a bit of a shame.
I quite liked the branding/logo and the products, but I guess not enough people did.

Sorry, nothing at all wrong with the product, but a bit like Triple Works, I think it suffered in part through brand snobbery….

In the latest collab with Self Edge were there pieces that didn't pass Quality Control, and if so what happens to them? Just curious.

There would have been, there always is with any production run. If they are fixable, they get fixed (and because we completed making these months ago, they will already have been fixed and be included in the numbers). If they are not fixable, but generally OK, they will get sold at the Iron Heart Camp, where people can see the actual article and make a decision about whether they want it or not. Otherwise they will get destroyed after we have salvaged all useful bits and pieces.
