@sabergirl thanks that's what i figured. same goes for my buzz rickson sweatshirts and thermals. usually i just throw them in there for half an hour or so on a low-ish heat then hang dry just to speed the process up, so that's prob what i'll do here

anyone put a double heavyweight sweatshirt through the dryer? don't want much shrinkage (if any) but seems like this sweater is going to take forever to hang dry. i've also found that thermals/sweatshirts in general seem to benefit from a machine dry, as it helps them shrink back to their original proportions

anyone have a dehen crewneck sweatshirt? curious as to sizing and feel (especially compared to a freenote deck sweatshirt or a wonder looper crewneck double heavyweight, if anyone knows)

anyone having the button hole issue despite the new buttons (where the button hole stretches and the button pops out)? after some wear i'm experiencing it with this shirt

@Buckeye any chance you bought it off Vinted? I just sold mine (size XXL) there last week – it's 100% real if so

@Max-Power just look at the guide on filsons website (and use their wax, which I believe I saw freenote recommend for rewaxing as well — maybe on instagram?), almost impossible to mess it up

@Gavin666 yeah that was my thought too, but for this year's restock (which came out yesterday) they've made the shoulders and chest on the L a bit bigger, so should be perfect
weirdly the product page even recommends sizing down in the heavier weight riders jacket for a "snug fit" – but the M is even smaller than the regular riders jacket large. so i don't see how that is good advice...

just an update: ordered an L and the XL to compare. L is definitely the winner here for me – 180cm and 80kg, with an athletic build. XXL in my iron heart flannels (but could probably go down to an XL for a more tailored fit). regardless, thank for everyone's help

@Brandrea looks great thanks for posting. Rly leaning toward an XL. The only thing that I’m worried about is it being too long (I’m 5’11)

RE: Freenote Clothposted in Other Brands and Shops
@Brandrea have you ever posted fit pics of your jacket? i wear the same size UHF (although I'm a couple inches shorter than you), so would be a somehwhat good comparison i think

RE: Freenote Clothposted in Other Brands and Shops
thanks all and yeah @popvulture @JunkPants that's been my experience too (although more so with pants than their shirts). i'm in the netherlands, so difficult to try on anything in person, so maybe best to err on the side of "too big". just had to return a CD-4 jacket w a 23in chest and 19.5in shoulders (which was a size L), so i'm thinking i may be more of an XL in their jackets anyway

RE: Freenote Clothposted in Other Brands and Shops
@Northman yeah that's almost definitely going to be the case with me as well. may hold out for a restock of the alpaca lined 20oz version. that one's measurements in the XL seem just right

@Mizmazzle these are old posts, but just looking through them. how do you find the sizing on the rider's jacket? i'm a L in almost everything freenote makes, but the size chart puts me between L and XL, especially if i want to wear a flannel/sweatshirt under it

@travisxray it's been a while, but how are you liking this jacket? how did it break in? Just picked up a size L (my normal freenote size) and I feel it's a bit restrictive, even though it doesn't look too small. was it that way for you, and if so, did it break in/stretch with wear?

I have this Freenote shirt and noticed the part of the stitching on the shoulder has come loose. I cut the thread and tied it off on the inside of the shirt. Nothing on it is coming apart; it all feels very sturdy and secure. Should I just leave it and wear, or is it worth taking to a tailor to get fixed?

RE: OrSlowposted in Other Brands and Shops
anyone have any advice on new yorker pant sizing? I'm a 3 in the fatigue pants and a 33 in most iron heart jeans – trying to decide between the 3 and the 4 for the new yorkers.

@Fades-for-future how is the sizing on these? found a haleiwa T in a color i want, but they only have XL (46). i'm an L in freenote and loopwheeler and an XL in merz b. schwanen, for reference. doubting whether to risk it
