      Well that's good and bad news…thanks @Alex.

I'm late to the 25oz game, just picked up my first pair in Indigo this past week and I love them.  Beyond surprised with how "easy" they are to wear considering the weight, I was not expecting that at all considering all the talk about how beastly they are….which they definitely are at 25oz but also very easy to wear at the same time.  These are easier to wear and already more comfortable than my UHR's.  Love this fabric...might be my favorite IH denim fabric.

So now I've decided I need some 25oz black denim but of course...I'm too late and they are nowhere to be found.

        tl;dr
OxiClean soak (~3 hours) + machine wash + air dry = no stinky synthetic fabric

An update to the laundry fest. The Arm & Hammer Laundry Booster and regular detergent able to get smells out of cotton very easily. OxiClean was needed to get it out of the synthetic fabrics. I soaked the primaloft jacket (IHJ-28) for ~3 hours prior to washing again. I used the “for colors” and no smells version of OxiClean and did not notice any color loss on the jacket. It actually was easier to dry after the machine wash than it was after the bucket hand wash. I can tell why this fabric does really well in the wind and rain, it really does hold the water and air inside of it really well when washing. I had it weigh it down and squeeze out the bubbles in order to get it fully saturated.  It took quite some time and effort to get this fully clean, but I now have my jacket back.  Note to self - do all of this again before storing in the spring/summer.

            Hi Everybody,
I'm new here and looking to buy my first pair of Iron Hearts.  I've been wearing a pair of Freenote Cloth Trabucos for this past year that I really like.  They're 14.5 oz and very slow faders. I'd like to try something heavier in 2023.  Looking at the measurement charts, it looks like either the 666 or the 634 might be a good fit.  If it makes any difference, I typically wear cowboy boots.  I'm thinking of starting with the 21oz.

What I'd like to do is order a few pairs to try on and then send back the ones that don't work.  I'm a little nervous about the $800 import duty-free limit here in the USA.  What happens when you go over $800?  What's the duty rate?  Also, does anybody have a ballpark idea of what it costs to ship jeans back to the UK?

            Thanks!

Iron Heart can send your jeans individually so as to avoid customs charges, they also can provide you with a return shipping label for $35. Obviously you can’t have them hemmed. I also wear Cowboy boots and the 555s work best for me. Good Luck.

how come some westerns have snaps all the way up like a 33, but some shirts have a button at the very top? Like UHF's or a 13 or something? Not a deal breaker, obviously, but lately I've been finding myself wishing all the work shirts were buttons top to bottom and all the westerns were snaps top to bottom.

The shirts with buttons at the collar are made from material that is too thick for snaps to work effectively on. Collar construction means that the the fabric has more layers than in the placket making much thicker.

I’ll be in Sedona this week at Enchantment Resort. Based on what I’m seeing of the place, I may not leave. But I will have wheels. Any veterans have suggestions? Grand Canyon is out because the wife wouldn’t be able to join and I want to experience that together. I have found a lot of the big ones from just looking at tourist sites. Anything off the beaten path? Flagstaff could be in scope too.

Maybe I’ll just take a bunch of selfies in dramatic desertscapes 😂

Flagstaff is beautiful.  The state parks outside of Sedona are great too.  Check out Red Rock SP and Slide Rock SP.  Jerome is a super cool town on the side of a mountain, loved that.  Cottonwood is at the bottom of that mnt and is also cool.  There’s a great Vegan Indian (?) place there.  The owner got in trouble when they used to be in DC for dressing up like an Indian so I guess they’re hiding in AZ now.  There’s a cool museum too, the Douglas Mansion at Jerome State Historic Park.

I think I have some photos on my travel thread of all that stuff.  Should be sometime in the spring of 21.

@mclaincausey Allie and I stayed in Sedona last winter and did a bunch of hiking around the area and most of it looks like you'd expect. This is nothing you can't find on your Alltrails app, but the Boynton canyon hike was pretty fun with a dramatic canyon view from the bottom at the end. There also wasn't too many other people around on the day we went.

Not sure what type of scenery impresses a Colorado resident.

In Sedona, i thought the food was one step below mediocre. We actually ate at the whole foods deli one night cause we were sick of paying for mediocre.

However, Pisa Lisa made a great pizza and their take on a caesar salad was amazing. There was also a vegan spot that made chocolates too called the ChocolaTree organic eatery. There wasn't a shaved armpit to be seen

Yeah, the actual town of Sedona was kind of meh.  Unless you want overpriced crystals or you want your aura cleansed I’d stick to the outskirts for hiking and better food.

Disappointing to hear about the food, but there's probably a reason you hear about their neighboring state's cuisines and not theirs. If I could find northern New Mexican cuisine I'd eat it anywhere. Pizza sounds great! Did y'all eat at Miraposa @jordanscollected ? I'd love to know if it's "meh" so we can cancel our reservation and do pizza instead–same chef behind that as Miraposa, looks like. Wife LOVES a Caesar as long as it isn't one of those generic ""southwestern" styles.

I may wind up doing a bunch of mountain biking tours during the day and stargazing at night. We'll be in Boynton Canyon which seems like it should be able to keep me busy enjoying the desert unless there are can't-miss things in town. Sounds like if I use the wheels I should go to Flagstaff.

My theory about Sedona has always been ,that since there’s no school/college there you don’t have thousands of students who need to be fed and entertained. Which is why everything closes up pretty early, and there really aren’t cool inexpensive ethnic restaurants.
