What is your favorite IH denim.

@wjw They are hot and heavy. My legs are bigger due to lifting and require more space. If there was a 15” thigh on a size 36 it could be doable. But I just need that range of motion as well as the breathability. I feel like I lost some tolerance in my age to withstand the heat. I wore XHS in Los Angeles for years. Now I only do UHR when it’s cold or snowing. I just need light and movable denim now with wide legs. No knock on IH at all. Just my body is different. It’s been crazy to see over the years that I’ve been shopping with IH. How my tastes have changed over time

@Fadez I get this I have a pair of blue denim from another brand that is under 14oz and it's super comfortable. However, I think I'll be picking up slubs at some point - they look like they stretch a ton, and the fabric is loose and thus light feeling. The perfect comfort/summer denim?
-
@GardenState You absolutely nailed it! If you’re from NJ (the garden state) I’m from PA. Those humid summers allow much more air circulation.
-
@GardenState 21ozOD was my first IH denim. I moved quickly to XHS and the ODs sat for a couple years. I'm back to wearing them again and as stated by @Ross they are insanely soft and comfortable. They are my cozy house jeans now with a newfound 2-3x a week rotation wear for work and hiking etc.
-
@Mizmazzle I think it was you, possibly someone else, that compared the 21od to velvet and it's so accurate. Not just in regard to hand feel but the way it changes color depending on the direction the denim gets brushed.
-
19oz left hand twill is the most beautiful IH denim to me.

@Darth-fader the 14oz is definitely a sleeper. I plan on catching my 14oz pairs up to my 21oz pairs once the weather warms up. I want to see how the durability compares.
-
@WhiskeySandwich I agree! 14oz denim gets very soft but is still durable. I’ve worn mine working construction and they held up well.

About a year and a half since I tried reviving this thread and since then I've added to my IH collection. 21 still hard to beat as a 365 day jean, but I have grown super fond of XHS. I like the character of the denim/fades a lot more than the 21s, and if it could be worn in as many situations as the 21oz it would be no competition between the two for me. Luckily in my climate I can still wear XHS most of the time. And the XHS has surprisingly lasted the longest without a crotch blowout. The break in was real though, took a long time to become super comfy.

@wjw Early days on some of these but my guess is UHR. Though like all I have tried and 14oz is underrated for sure.

@goosehd Good point - Editing. I love UHF also
