@northsouthdenimguy for example when I send a text to @Giles saying lucky you, it always corrects to fuck you…
Lucky you........

@northsouthdenimguy you are so right on the money with this.. its infuriating how bad autocorrect has become. It used to work quite well until maybe a year ago. Until they forced AI into it and its utter shite now.
Part of my job involves writing code. Modern code editors have had suggestion features for ages, based on the functions available to the thing I am editing. Say I want to perform some operation on a piece of text, the editor would suggest me a function called
toUpperCase. You apply the suggestion by hitting the tab key, and then the text gets converted to upper case. Simple. It would suggest something different if I wanted to do something to a number because it makes no sense to uppercase a number..but now they have added useless AI autocomplete on top of that. So the editor suggests some function that actually exists (because it knows what functions are available), I hit tab, and the the AI takes over and autocompletes some random nonsense that I didn't see suggested before, makes no sense for what I am trying to achieve and I have to delete manually, actively slowing me down instead of being of any kind of use to me.
Its an exercise in frustration.

@tenuin I don't think I've ever seen any product so persistently and pervasively shovelled out to a customer base that hasn't asked for it and is, at best, indifferent to its existence.
I get the distinct impression that big tech companies invested way too much into AI and are now determined to see a return on investment, despite customer reaction ranging from general indifference to outright disgust.

After the AI bubble inevitably bursts, we are all going to spend the rest of our miserable lives digging out of holes created by its wide mandatory adoption by governments and businesses.
I’m not just talking logistical holes because everything will be wrong and broken, but climatic holes the depth of which our pea brains are unable to contend with.

This has intrigued me as how he expects this to actually work:
"Elon Musk projects that in 10 to 20 years (by roughly 2036–2046), rapid advancements in AI and humanoid robotics will make traditional employment optional and usher in a "universal high income". He envisions a future where robots handle most tasks, creating extreme abundance, and money becomes less relevant."
I really can't see the reality of this as there needs to be a major shift in mentality for it to work. The entire system in it's current state is the complete opposite of this prediction.

Hey, if anybody knows when it’s gonna burst, please let me know in plenty of time so I can sell all my AI stocks
-
@goosehd to paraphrase: worlds richest man wants to make money obsolete... yea, somehow I don't buy that.
-
@sabergirl I'll join you...
-
@flannel-slut yeah he just screamed a lot. Honestly not my favorite.
-
Musk is an idiot and a charlatan. Anything he says will happen won’t.
It’s remarkable that people and shareholders in particular accept anything he says at this point.
-
He's such a loser. Despite the obvious overarching vileness of the whole thing, his dweeby desperation in the Epstein Files was so funny. Josh Johnson has a recent bit about it, highly recommended. Made me howl.
