@Matt my first thought was the OGL skull ring and wife immediately said no lol. Looking at the GAH model 31 now.

@Chibs I got the beta-male joke. I thought it came off as funny, but I also don’t take much seriously on the internet. I’d say 90% of my comments are meant to be read light-heartedly. There should be a font for that
Also, did you know that 68% of online statistics are totally made up?

Things always seem to be in the last place you look.

Wait, you lost it because it was loose? It just fell off without you realizing it? This was a fear I had after losing weight

I lost my wedding band earlier this week. Knew it was a little loose but always put off taking it in to get resized. So pissed at myself.

I think this was around 2009. I was out on the lake getting pulled behind a boat on a tube, and my ring slipped off when I was trying to climb back on after being thrown. One of the guys with us dove straight down and somehow found it on the first try. The water was super murky and it was probably 10 or 12 feet deep, so it was pretty damn impressive.
Of course, I ended up getting divorced anyway, but I still have the ring. So if anyone needs a size 10 Cartier white gold Love ring, let me know.

@northsouthdenimguy those can fetch a few shekels without too much effort.
-
I think I’m just going to save it for my daughters(13/18). I don’t know. Not expecting the to use it for a future husband with the bad mojo attached, but maybe they’ll want it anyway, maybe resize it?
-
@northsouthdenimguy we had Laura’s engagement ring redesigned with a few smaller diamonds replaced with larger ones, yellow gold to platinum, and a anniversary band made that interlocked with the wedding band and engagement ring.
The gold of the old bands was melted down with the smaller diamonds being used and made into rings for both of our daughters.
-
@northsouthdenimguy @goosehd yeah that makes a lot of sense. In my family we have all sorts of stories of one person's earring becoming someone else's heirloom pendant.

I forgot my ring by the pool at a hotel in Madeira during one of our sales meetings. We went for a swim at 4am after a few drinks and I thought I should deposit the ring on a sun lounger instead of losing it in the pool.
Got up the next morning and was very relieved when the nice lady at reception told me that a member of the hotel staff had found it.

@northsouthdenimguy this gave me a good laugh tonight

Appreciate everyone letting me know I'm not alone in misplacing this. Thanks guys.
@Go-For-Chill I had it resized once when we fird bought our rings but it was still just big enough to slide down my finger with wet hands.

Very cool, that’s a great idea. My mom has done some really meaningful things with different pieces over the years. Most recently, she had necklaces made for my sister and all of her daughters in law.
“Funny” story. Back when the economy crashed(08’) and we were basically broke, my ex wife went to one of those gold parties and brought a bunch of heavy pieces, including a bracelet that was basically a solid gold Rolex Presidential style, plus several rings and necklaces with different precious gemstones. The stones were small, but still valuable and high quality.
They weigh the gold and are supposed to give you the stones back. Of course, after liquoring her up, they did not return any of the stones to my ex wife and then denied they had taken them at all. I can only imagine how many other people they did that to.
