IHSH-189-IND - 21oz Selvedge Denim CPO Work Shirt - "The UnTucked" - Indigo

40 days of wear paired with UHR.
I have worn it mostly indoors but I do venture out for walks along the river every couple of days. Wore it several times hiking on mountain trails during vacation and drenched it in sweat. It gets gnarly when I am doing housework and yard work too. Typical things I do in all of my denim.
When it gets wet from sweat, I take it off and lay it flat out facing the sun. I then let it bake there for about an hour or so. Before putting it back on, I spray the pits and weft area with a water/isopropyl alchohol solution combined with some drops of essential oil clove. This really helps neutralize any smell and pushes off the first wash. I'll see how long I can last for. The electric blues are just now popping.

Damn dude! You’re crushing this thing. The IPA mix is a classic one for stench. Keep it up. Summer is so humid now and I’m north of you. Keep up the great work man. I’m loving the updates
Yeah @GTPowers tipped me off to the spray. Normally I would probably have washed it by now, but I really want to see how far I can put off a first wash. I'll definitely keep it up, I really have developed an affection towards this CPO.

@Oaktavia awesome macro shots & amazing shirt

@Oaktavia fantastic!! When I think about how Long I needed to produce visible fades in 21oz bottons it's crazy how contrasted your fadelines are already
-
@FlavourFade for the first 23 days, I had it on 24/7, morning noon and night. Its pretty grimey now, so I dont sleep in it currently. Once it receives its first wash, I'll start sleeping in it again. The key is to wear it as much as humanly possible to get these shirts to fade quickly. 100% dedication, even on days when its 90F + outside like today.
Some folks seem to fade bottoms more rapidly, I recall @louisbosco telling me this in Gosport. I feel like my bottoms take forever to fade, seems like twice as long almost. I am not sure why. Maybe I move my upper body around more and shirts/jackets just get abraised more than my pants.

Could we expect this in a western cut too? Not sure if someone has already asked and I missed it!

@worn2fade A little bit of history/backstory. The Untucked was originally suggested by a Forum member whose user name was,you guessed it, Untucked. He wanted a Work shirt with CPO style pockets. A sample was made and it eventually went into production. It was named after the aforementioned Forum member. So if you were to give it western pockets and yokes it would just be a CPO,and not the highly coveted Untucked. There are heavy weight denim western CPOs,just not in the 21OZ denim. Hope this helps.
-
@Jett129 Gotcha, that makes sense. I didn’t know that what made it an “untucked” was the fact that it was a work shirt (and ofc that it was named after Mr. Untucked himself.)
As much as I appreciate the 18oz/19oz cpo’s I’ve seen, a 21oz or even 25oz would be insane to have in a western cut - let’s name it the.. “stay tucked.”
-
@worn2fade there was a 17oz duck western CPO made a number of years ago, with a brown corduroy collar. It was a nice shirt. This also means it may happen again.
As @Jett129 said, «the untucked» is specifically a work shirt style CPO.
I’ll add that while a 21oz CPO may be theoretically possible, a 25oz western CPO would almost certainly not be. The denim is so thick that getting the sleeves and yokes hemmed right would be a nightmare. This is why there is no 25oz type III.

Unreal, man. The GOAT denim just got GOAT-ier
