Same @endo - not Wescos but I only travel with boots or wear them all day at festivals. Good boots are comfy.

The death of the mechanical bicycle makes me sad.

It’ll never die! Just getting marginalized.

I have two mechanical bikes, one of which is also a fixie so I can brake with my legs. I much prefer hydraulic and especially disc brakes.

I think John Lennon was actually the most superficial of the Beatles.

I’m curious about this…it’s an uncommon opinion I think for sure. Paul always seemed to get slapped with being more superficial, especially lyrically

What I mean is that Paul is a great composer and and he convinces me with his daily life lyrics. George is obviously the deep mystic soul (my favourite Beatle) and Ringo is Ringo, a great drummer with the right sense. John was the provocateur and for sure also a great composer, especially together with Paul (an incredible unit). My favourite Beatles song is probably 'A Day in Life' which is so nicely divided between the two. But when I listen to John lyrics after the Beatles, like from 'Imagine', for me it is essentially blah-blah. Great words that always make sense, not obligations. A bit like his activism.

You'll probably hate me, but that's this threat is for. And I'll take the punishment.

My buddy and I were talking about this driving home from a trip yesterday. We both felt Lennon was the biggest douche of the Fab Four. Had he lived on, that today he would be insufferable.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

I mean, it's hard to compare since Paul had so many more years of personal and professional life for people to critique. But I will say, after watching the Get Back doc, I get why George never said a word. Or, rather, never had a chance to say a word.

I listened to a podcast that talked about how when they weren’t allowed to have non state sanctioned music in China there was an u regions movement started by this dude who bought a big mountain of cassette tapes from the IS that were meant for recycling. They had all been cut to prevent listened. He painstakingly repaired them and started distributing them. For the first time music was thriving in China except it was all out of the context we take for granted so people didn’t understand that some bands were born of others and music evolved from one sound to the next and so on. No one there really cared about the Beatles. To them there was nothing special about it.
