Mizmazzle’s Trip Across the Pond
-
Yesterday marked the beginning of the road trip chapter out to the south west coast of Ireland. We landed in Ballyvaughn and we couldn’t be happier with this gorgeous little seaside village.
Pit stop in Athlone
Ballyvaughn!!!
Coolest little pub ever!!
Local oysters, shrimp, and mussels
Back home after a long day and night (love how light it stays until so late)

@Mizmazzle
the food looks awesome!
so much good food and drinks may result in upsizing when reaching Gos Vegas -
Great pics @Mizmazzle loving seeing your adventures
-
@Mizmazzle perhaps it’s just the angle, but that looks like a proper pour…
-
@Mizmazzle said in Mizmazzle’s Trip Across the Pond:
Though I do find the pours round these parts to be a bit on the shy side…
Wait till you get here:
"In the Republic of Ireland, the standard measure for spirits in licensed premises is 35.5ml. This measure is equivalent to one standard drink containing approximately 10 grams of pure alcohol. In contrast, the standard measure in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) is 25ml."
-
@Mizmazzle I will also definitely be keeping my eyes open for that one. Hadn’t previously heard of it.
-
@Mizmazzle just awesome buddy. And thank feck the VW car rental has a dark interior
-
@Mizmazzle Pure awesomeness!
-
@Mizmazzle Any chance you’ll be near Cork,where the Red Breast distillery is? A tour would probably be way too much fun.
-
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot must be the angle. Cause the pours are standard across all the pubs.
-
@Mizmazzle great stuff, Mark. Looks like a great little town. Loving the side story of Redbreast discovery in Ireland
. The PX is stellar. Redbreast 27 is next!
Btw, duty free at Dublin Airport is a great place for whiskey shopping. They usually have an amazing Redbreast selection (cheaper too, obviously).
-
@Jett129 we actually fly out of Cork to Bristol on Saturday. Don’t think we’ll have time to do the distillery though. When you mentioned it I almost rearranged our plans to make it happen. That’s how much I’m digging the Redbreast. But we’re having too much fun in these little coastal villages to leave any sooner than we have to. Thank god for the Duty Free @americanathreads

@flannel-slut ha! I’ll probably have to use a putty knife to scrap these 822s off my legs by the end of this trip!
@SKT today we went to the only island I’ve ever been to where jeans and flannels were proper June attire. Almost a bizzaro world inverse…not gonna lie…I loved it!!
