IH-634-LB - Straight Cut Loom Breakers….
-
I’m sending my LB’s off to Science + Kindness for repairs. I’ll get ‘em back in a few weeks and upload some post repair pics.
-
@jordanscollected looks like you’ve put those through the wringer…and they’re awesome. Interested to see the repairs when done. Safe travels LBs
-
@jordanscollected wow, those look amazing the way they have faded to such a light color. I am sure those will look even better with repairs.
Are the Loom Breakers the same duck as the 526-DD?
-
@Oaktavia I'm not positive Steve. I know that the LB's were made on a selvedge loom, and broke that loom. I also recall the loombreakers weighing in at 16oz and yours states 16.5 so may have a bit heavier of a fabric. The double indigo duck is and stays relatively crispy compared to denim. Don't expect "sweatpants" comfort over time. They do soften some and have a really smooth handfeel, but they also remind you they are firm and really tightly woven. They also have a tendency to not stretch, and instead rip in high wear areas. I know you'll put this jacket through the paces and get rewarded with electric blues very early on.
-
@SKT Safe travels indeed. S&K is just over in St. Paul so it's only going across the metro. They did a great crotch repair for me a few years ago in tonal stitching, but I plan to add the slightest pop of color to this repair.
-
@jordanscollected right on man, thanks for the info. The ripping in some of the heavily evolved photos I've seen now make more sense. So stubborn and unstretchy that it pulls apart.
-
I’ll be keenly interested to see how plain woven fabric repair (darning?) compares to twill.

I just managed to get one of the holy Iron Heart grails, maybe it’s even THE grail piece when it comes to pants or jeans
and it’s brand new , maybe the only new one still in existence…..
super excited
-
@Daniel-San wow! Incredible find.
-
@SourPower
absolutely, still can’t believe it… -
@Daniel-San Great score and congrats!!
-
@Daniel-San Unbelievable. A blast from the past!
-
the holy grail arrived today
fit is perfect @Matt sorry my friend
634 is not my favorite cut at all, but in this case…
@Giles what would you recommend ? a soak or wash before I start wearing them ? Or keep them dry ? Paula wrote at the beginning of this thread that there’s little or no shrinkage to be expected as they are sanforized.
no mistakes on this jewel -
This is awesome @Daniel-San I wore mine straight out of the bag with no soak or wash. These do not soften as fast or as much as denim. also, with each wash they crisp up really firm. You may see a little tightening with a wash, and you may lose a 1/2" or so in the inseam but nothing major. The waist will stretch back out past the initial measurement. I should be getting mine back soon from the repair shop.

@Daniel-San congratulations

@Daniel-San how on earth ???
