@danno_dub we do not expect shrinkage if you wash per our guidelines

@danno_dub if you hot wash and\or machine dry, there’s some shrink to be had.

This is generally the case though..

Sizing is all over on these, some losing 2" in the p2p number

That is more likely because people do not know how to measure or do not measure like we do.....

I picked this up from Grailed in Australia - shipping was $$, but what an absolute unit this shirt is with its many hues of blue. This is Iron Heart, to me.

@danno_dub My indigo Kersey shrank more than my gray one FWIW both washed the same way, but others might have a different experience. A little ironing can go a long way though, and neither shrank to where they won't fit me.

@bluemantra I had the same issue with this shirt and went with the larger size and then soaked and dried it a couple of times increasing the soak and dry temperature each time (not wanting to overshoot the shrink in the initial soak/dry) to shrink it to an almost perfect fit. If going this route, don’t get too aggressive with the heat initially and slowly increase the heat with additional soaks and dries as needed - this shirt definitely shrinks. Good luck!

@John-Galt I took my Kersey all the way up in XXXL vs my current UHF of XXL because of how much it shrinks. (I’m a 41” chest, TTS 42, usually medium or large in US sizing). Now, I’m in the “I don’t want a flannel/denim shirt that I can’t put in the dryer” so my sizing is for that and for a vintage fit which is less modern/slim than a lot of people like.

Point being, I agree with that they shrink a lot. And I always suggest erring on the side of “get these even bigger than you think” and if the shirt “fits” before you throw it in the dryer, size up if you think you might ever throw it in the dryer.

@will6er that's exactly what i was thinking. Too often I've sized down and then if my weight fluctuates just a little then it doesn't fit any more.

I’m going through this now. Lots of stuff too tight by just a little as I settle into my almost 50’s and care less about chasing abs and switch to chasing carbs.

Also, like mentioned before don’t be scared of putting things that are too big in the dryer. It isn’t a death sentence like some would have you believe. I don’t do it often but if necessary I do it once to get all the possible shrink out then air dry for the rest of its life.

Can wash with warm water and then see how much shrink there is and then slowly turn up the dial to shrink more in subsequent washes? Or does all the shrink come out after first wash. Probably a dumb questions…

@bluemantra I’ve been successful in shrinking in stages - it is my preferred method. Refer to my post approximately 9 or 10 posts above (prior).

@bluemantra Most of the shrink is in the dryer, not the washer. The first dryer run will get rid of all the shrinkage. Subsequent wears may stretch it a little bit (like with jeans) but nowhere near where it started, and another dryer will shrink it again.

More like 2 sizes. My XXXL measures 23.5" chest, 26" sleeves, 19" shoulders. That all matches the "as shipped" XL measurements for the shirt. This is with a bunch of dryer cycles so far, some of them with high heat. I don't have what this actual shirt was ahead of time, but it was definitely too big for me, fresh, 2 size shift feels about right.

As a comparison, my UHF's shrink more like 0.5 size, with similar measurements to my Kersey except for still having slightly longer sleeves and slightly narrower shoulders.

It's worth noting that with a 41" chest, a 47" flannel is a great fit for my tastes, especially with the way Iron Heart shirts are cut in the front.
