I do like the name that was suggested: Gosport, or The Gosport. It’s something unique in the boot world and has a connection to Iron Heart.

@Denman-John yeah, The Gosport is a cool one and anyone who knows IH would know why that name was chosen. The Weevil on the other hand might not make a whole lot of sense. I just remember chuckling when I first read that street name on the map walking there last September.

Popular misconception is that the street is named after the Weevils that infested ships biscuits (which were made in Royal Clarence Yard). In fact Thomas Grant the guy who invented the industrialised process for making them, had our house made for him by The Admiralty. It was actually named after Weevil House which stood close to our house in the 18th Century, and which The Admiralty bought together with it's land to create the brewery, victualling and armaments yards....

Thank you all very much for your suggestions, a new name has been picked and is one suggested by one of you! Unfortunately there's no material prize beyond the satisfaction of it, but i'm sure you'll have the eternal gratitude of @Alex for relieving him of the dubious (and often confusing) honour of having boots named after him.
The new name will go into place later this week as these have just restocked and we've been referring to them as the 'Alex' in all the newsletters, videos and social media content, and we don't want to confuse anyone who goes looking for the 'Alex' and cant find it because it's got a new name.

Hi ,
looking for sizing advice , im 8.5E truman and 8.5E grenson . my feet are 27.5 cm long. So im thinkning 8.5E in these should fit. Any advice is welcome . Thanks -

We have done some research across the various brands for you and the team agrees that you will be best off sticking with the same sizing when looking at Wesco boots.

More versatile than I realised , more than comfortable in both town and field .

@seanscott I'm glad you're getting on with them! I think it's tempting to look at them out the box as quite 'dressy' (and they certainly can be if you look after and shine them up). But i've had my pair for ~3 years, daily'd them for about half of that and they served the purpose nicely and in my humble opinion look great with some real wear to them.

Remember, you could dress them down even more with a simple lace swap that matches the welt constructional stitching.
Would love to see a pic of that if you have one , never even really thought about switching up the laces .
