When using a belt, do you put the belt under or over the leather patch?
-
@Denman-John I always do under…
-
@Denman-John always over, because sometimes the patch is sewed on all the way round
-
+1 for under
-
@Denman-John Always over.

If it can go under, it goes under. If not, well, you get the idea.

Thank you gents. Putting a pair of 634S into rotation and figuring out how to wear them with a belt. All my IH jeans/pants are workwear and don’t have a leather patch (except my 805s, but I don’t wear a belt with them). Thanks again!

@SKT yes. And @Mizmazzle as well as @flannel-slut and me will argue that you definitely need olive ones. And then it‘s up to @Daniel-San to talk you into burgundy…

@Tago-Mago …once again, I’m in my 50’s

I only own brown boots. Should a guy have some black boots too?
I was the polar opposite...I only own black boots,should I have some brown boots? You know the answer!

@long_john86 the chinos and work pants from IH have always had a tricky slim thigh. 816 was a little more generous, as are the 829. There was a lighter weight chino, 711 maybe? That one fit me better than the other chinos I’ve tried.

@long_john86 Like you, I'm a big-thigh-guy.
The 727 chinos (based on the 888 top block) should be coming back at some point this season, and in new colourways. They may be more suitable. I'm keeping an eye out for them.
Otherwise, just know that you need to size up for your thighs in any of IH's straight cut trousers, which are all more or less based on the 634 cut.
