Does the free hemming service from IHUK apply to jeans purchased in the past? If so, do I only need to cover the shipping costs to and from Gosport, or would I also need to pay for the hemming service itself?

@jerkules Hey mate so the official standpoint from us is that hemming is free at the time of purchase. There can be some instances where we can bend this rule - first time customers trying jeans on and returning them to us to get their sizing right etc. If you are returning jeans which have been worn for some time to be hemmed, this would not be free. Looking at the product page, we could make this clearer so will work on that now

          Hi everyone,
This is my first post, and I will start with a fit/sizing question I have not yet found a real answer to on the forum.
I´m currently wearing an IH-666S-142ii W34 and it´s loose on the waist but very snug/tight on the thigh. So logically I´m looking at the 888 fit now but I was wondering if you make the jump from the 666 to the 888 fit if you would select the same waist size (W34)?

I´m greatfull for any advice or experience that you might went through.
          Cheers,
          Christian

You have to look at the measurements! I don’t have the 14oz in both 666 and 888, but I do have 25 oz in both cuts. The size 40 barely fits me in a 666, too tight in the thigh. I have had a 38 in the 888 that fit better, but still felt a little restrictive because it was 25oz. In other denim weights, size 38 is good in the 888.

Overall, there’s more to look at when comparing cuts, rise also plays a factor, because it tells you where the waist will sit, and how the hip and thigh will sit in the top block. Sticking to the same size will give you the thigh room you’re after, but depending on the way you want your jeans to fit, you may be able to go a size down.

@Indigo-Alchemist Hi Christian, welcome to the forum. To add to @sabergirl's comments, the easiest way to look at different cuts is the compare function on the website. Here's how the 21oz compares in 666 and 888:

Hey all, I know the Type 3 21oz SBG is coming soon and I'm a bit undecided on if I should get the Non-fade superblack or the SBG version that fades. I like the black that doesn't fade, but If it's really stiff and uncomfortable to wear vs the SBG, I might grab the SBG instead. Is the non fade superblack really like "body armor" like some people say or does it get softer with some wear. Some people have posted here that they are going on 2 years and the non-fade superblack is still stiff and rigid. Thoughts from those who have the non-fade superblack type 3? Thanks.

@jpvisual I would not say there is really a tangible difference between the two denims after a similar amount of wear, owning jeans in both fabrics...

@AdamC Hey Adam, just another suggestion, but it would be nice for the hemming fee to be waived for certain denims such as XHS and UHR which will have some shrinkage after washing for those who know their size, but prefer to get all the shrink out first.

@bluemantra Thank you. There will be times when we apply our judgement and cases like this will usually be offered as a free service ☺ . We just need to have some rigid rules in black and white. That being said, we wouldn't cover the back and forth shipping so it is often more economical to have them hemmed locally to save those shipping costs, dependant on location of course.

main question: can anyone recommend a trusted website to get a guardian bell?

Story: when I first moved back to singapore, I met a guy through a friend and football. turns out he was a biker, whole family rides. we had the same brand, a triumph. from there we starting going on touring rides and did 2 DGR as well. fast forward 4 years and his wedding is in 3 weeks. apart from their wedding gift, I'm thinking of getting him a guardian bell. but a lot of the searches I pull up are from random website/ amazon. would appreciate if there is a trusted website, and one that ships internationally as well..

Hey all, I'm really trying to decide on a type 3 and it's between the 21oz 526PJ and the 19oz 526L. For any of those who have owned both jackets, what is your favorite and why? I think if I get get a good fit after all the soaking and washing with the 526L, I'd go for that, but it seems a lot more risky in getting the size and fit right.

@T4920 love my Clifton Hokas for long distance runs or better yet, my 40 year old joints love Hoka for long distance runs. However, I wear these only for running as I think most of their lineup to be fugly… seeing them styled as a loafer almost seems like a joke. With that said, I’m sure Matt is only contemplating which size to go with.
