@louisbosco The verdigris on those snaps is intensely cool looking. Sorry they keep failing. I can’t see why it would be difficult to just replace the snaps over and over no matter what part breaks, as long as the hole the snaps go through doesn’t get ripped or too enlarged. Have you ever set a snap yourself? Might be time to learn.

Great meetup, gents! Nice to see all your smiling faces together.

Something is definitely corroding in the snap, maybe a galvanic reaction thanks to the humidity and sweat. You could try cleaning the snaps with a few drops of alcohol, let it dry, followed by a minimal drop of something like obenaufs or another oil like flax, olive, sunflower, etc. Basically you want to get the salts and moisture out of there and keep it protected.

I had an unfortunate magic marker stain on my left forearm that I tried to resolve myself. Of course, it got worse. I sent it to Rago Brothers in NJ, who did a bang-up job on cleaning up the whole shirt. I'll post more pics when I get it back, but this is what they sent me.

@Alex - what would be the price to pimp an entire pale rider? Asking for a friend... lol.

So the best fit would be the 17mm, but I think (i am out the country) the snaps installed on the pale riders' male side are the smaller set. We would need to check out the feasibility of swapping them all out, but in theory, it would cost:

Some more shots with the much neglected Pale Rider. Procrastinating in the home office 🙂
Still struggling with slightly tight chest and shoulders, and effects on the upper snap. Also: my initial ill advised soaking adventure left the placket quite wavy, and the "hunch" on the back below the collar never fully settled.
                              Anyway.. still a beauty 🙂

@indigostiff, @Alex is correct, we suggest using the 17mm snap for the Pale Rider if you're interested.

The male studs on the PR are slightly smaller than GAH snaps, so we may need to trim a little off the male stud to make it fit. However, given that the leather is quite thick, it might be okay to put it on directly. Our main concern is with the top collar snap, as that part is thicker than the rest of the shirt, but we are going to look into this and let you know.

if you do have any questions or queries, feel free to message me or Graham. We're here to help.

@denim-dawg I really like what’s happening naturally with this shirt, and my vote would be for you to continue doing what you’re doing. I especially like the unevenness of the color as it’s exposed to the elements. You can always apply a conditioner, but once you do,you can’t un-ring the proverbial bell.

Yours is the new leather right? It looks more hydrated and supple compared to what I recall the old leather feeling like when I got to try it on in Hamburg. That one felt almost dry and velvety and really thirsty.

Yours is looking good and id leave it be unless you see something that needs moisture to prevent cracking or whatever.

                                            I would keep it wild.
