Pilgrims Torpedo launcher out of order ??

Just the one can. I have not needed to run the genny, but @Ian tested it before he left the boat. I asked how long he had run it for, he said one can of cider. My reply was something like, 30 seconds is hardly a fucking stress test…..
He also upgraded the port and starboard nav lights with LED bulbs, I think they'll see me leaving our Marina at night from Calais.......

Jeez, just trying to get some insurance quotes for the new boat. One of the insurers came back with this:
Please provide a detailed nautical CV of the owner or usual skipper. The sort of detail underwriters would require would include details such as the approximate amount of time spent yachting, the size and type of vessel/s, whether as skipper or crew, and the cruising area/s involved, notable extended passages, details of the level of experience skippering overnight or in hours of darkness and any offshore experience. Please note that details of qualifications alone are not sufficient.
My reply was that I am not applying for a job as skipper on a super yacht….

As you know, our Japanese connections, business and friends are extremely important to us and Iron Heart has contributed greatly to the life we lead. So it was really important that the name of our new boat was Japanese.
The working name was Ikigai, it means "The reason I get up in the morning". I absolutely loved the concept, but @Madame Buttonfly was a little concerned that it did not sound feminine enough for what is a very beautiful boat.
So we decided upon Sakura, but we needed Haraki's permission. Sakura means cherry blossom, but more importantly for us, it was the name of his eldest daughter who died of cancer a few years ago. We felt it would be a moving tribute to both Haraki and Sarina, but did not want to use the name if Haraki felt uncomfortable about it.
We asked him last night for permission and he was delighted with the idea and gave it his blessing.
So Sakura it is and we are thrilled.
Tetsu san will work on a design for us….
Very happy.

Parents should never see their children go away.
Naming the ship like H's daughter is a tribute.
Well done. G. very touching -
That makes me so happy G.
My favorite teppanyaki restaurant as a boy was Sakura in Jackson, MS. It was always so special to go there. So I have a warm association with the term myself and warmer now.
