Got myself this black one on a good sale awhile back. Hasn't got much wear. I decided quite early I found the drawstring useless so I pulled it out. Mistake haha because now there is no way I can tread it back because the fabric is so thick.
I wonder if anyone has managed to get any monster fades with this one or not.

Looking for some advice from anyone who has experience with Iron Heart work pants compared with the 888s.

I have a pair of IH-634S-18 and IH-888S-21OD, both in size 38 with a 12.6" front rise. Interestingly, the rise is the same on both models, and I find it comfortable.
I'm now considering a pair of work pants later, using the IH-822-IND size chart as an example. The listed front rise is 11.6", which is a full inch shorter than what I'm used to. I also noticed when looking at some older size charts that the front rise tends to be an inch shorter in general with work pants. I am not thinking about the double knee specifically, but any work pant really.

For those who own both IH work pants and 888s, how noticeable is the difference in rise and overall comfort? In particular, how do the work pants feel when sitting, bending down, or moving around throughout the day? Does the lower rise make a significant difference in comfort, or is it something you barely notice once you're wearing them? One of my main concerns is comfort when sitting in a car, as a lower rise can sometimes feel restrictive.

@Choko Congrats man! I saw it but I wanna get 3xl or 4xl in this depending on the final measurements. I think I'll also try it out with my 9526PJ. You probably feel bulletproof wearing 2x 21oz SB

@dirtyframer Yeah same. I don't consider a jacket like this as a fade project. We'll see how they size. I hope for enough length though it is usually a shorter jacket. Goal is that a flannel doesn't stick out too much when layering one under. Otherwise this will be perfect with thermal, hoodie or crewneck.

@SamD The IHJ-169-KHA tease everytime. It looks like it gets better with every wear!

@H-P-U Searching for the lightweight n1s from last fw and looking at the charts shows that this one has slightly wider but the difference is very small.

If you ever decided to do a reissue or even a slightly updated version of IHJ-81 I think there would be demand even though I say so myself. Work jackets and 17oz duck sell so why not combine both of those again? It's about time!

Update: Well. Something came over me and I just got one of the last 3 in my size. My IHJ-150-BLK is too good so I probably won't regret having a brown one as well. Classic duck color.

Popping the collar and using the copper hook and bar fastening at neck provides great wind protection too and doesn't leave much of a gap for the wind to travel through the front either.
Was tough to do up when new but now works great.

@Dazzler1971 You could use the compare tool on the online store. I see the indigo is just tiny bit bigger everywhere because it has not gone through the overdying process. Personally I would stay the same size because it's not that big of a difference, unless your 888s-21od is a little too generous in terms of their size.

@Darth-fader It is a proper rain shield. My black version is back in daily use. Goal is that some day it will be soft and pliable, but it will probably take ages. My better half has a thrifted 17oz type 3 that just feels incredibly nice. I guess with this 20oz+paraffin coat we won't know until someone has worn theirs for a very long time.

Almost makes me wanna pull the trigger on this brown one as well since my size is still there. I will reconsider if by any chance it will go in the outlet later due to only having couple of odd sizes left.

@northsouthdenimguy How would you compare this one and the shop vancouver anniversary shirt?Both very deep indigo but different materials.

I mean I am so glad I found IH and maybe some very few other brands that are actually quality.

Have the navy from last fw. Underrated. My go to when I layer with a hoodie.

@El-Fanatico When I had mine I never noticed it transfering any indigo. Had to sell because mine was a little too tight.

Some day when these restock again I will consider SP-large depending on the measurements.

@ogcraig1 There is no way I can justify this as a owner of the most recent ramblin and the 123-OD but man I already know that's going to be killer. I wonder how it fades. To grey maybe?

@Chibs Literally me the other day minus the shades and new balances. SJ items get better the more you wear em. I'd get a pair of comfy NBs too but it would mean my boots would get less wear. Forcing myself to wear other nice boots now during the autumn until I have to change into Danner Mountain Lights for 4 months + (reality of living in northen europe)
