In diving, if you can't fix it with o-rings, duck tape or vaseline then you're in the wrong game

Oh yeah, those are useful too, so long as you have a divers pair - one to use, one to lose

I’m never going diving or boating with either of you two alone (or maybe in a group).  Zip ties, duct tape, o-rings, and Vaseline…
