@AdamJ Yeah; I was thinking this morning about what order I would save my favourite pieces of clothing (in whatever scenario where such a thing would be necessary). The Lefty OD was my first IH pick at #3! Such a great jacket. (Not all that practical here in Minnesota, where it's either stark-bollock-freezing or outrageously hot for about 10 months or the year... but still excellent ^_^ )

I could go on and on about my five favorite things in this pic.
Let’s start with my 463s. I have been trying different cuts of Iron Heart denim since c.2010. None of them have quite been a perfect fit, until these! They’re my all time fave, in my all time favorite denim: 21 ounce flagship selvedge.
Next let’s talk about my IHB-03. I love big plate buckles, and this was a grail of mine for yeeeears before I was able to find one. I wear it pretty much every day.
Moving on up to the best flannel color way in the most snuggly brushed mid weight year-round weight: IHSH-23 purps.
Perhaps the top of the heap is my 7526J. This blanket-lined jacket with a plain collar in the classic short type III cut is on my back more often than not. We are getting to the time of year where I have to put it away for the spring and summer, and I will miss it. Shoutout to the best feature, the internal breast pocket.
Last but certainly not least, my citizen eco-drive dive watch. I tried many watches over the years trying to find one that gave me the same feeling as trying on my friend’s dad’s watch when I was a little kid. I think it was probably a seiko—I used to beg him to let me wear it when I was little, and really coveted a heavy silver watch on a rubber band from that young age. This is now my daily driver.
I feel very fortunate to have so many cool pieces that make me feel like a million bucks every day.

make me feel like a million bucks
Fantastic five @sabergirl - great outfit! You look like a million bucks too.

Brown leather. - two loved items.
An older Alexander's of Selkirk jacket which I can only wear with a t shirt these days. The special thing about it is the weathered Buchanan tartan lining. This matches my kilt and various other accessories. Love that connection.
The boots are a collab between Grenson and the Japanese 'Foot the coacher'. Recently I swapped the leather soles for vibram wedge and love them even more

My favorite clothing item is my Loombreakers. They been repaired multiple times and are still going strong. Though they are rare as the namesake reveals, they are my favorite because when I saw them listed in new condition on the buy/sell, I told my wife about them. This was my early IH days and she wasn’t into the cost of this stuff at all.
But she heard my pitch and unbeknownst to me reached out to the IH crew to facilitate and purchase from the seller and have it sent as a surprise and completely unexpected birthday gift.
The effort makes it my grail.
Non IH runner up is my G-Shock MTG. Not much need to be said, I simply love it like the day I got it nearly 10 years ago.

@jordanscollected That is an awesome story!

My very first IH item was this IHSH-232 UHF. At the time, I really struggled to pull the trigger because of the price, but the timeless style, the color, and everything I had heard about Iron Heart UHFs finally convinced me. I’ve never regretted it for a second.
I haven’t washed it to this day, and I still love that vibrant red color. It’s a timeless piece, and if I could only have one flannel, this would be it.
The non-IH item that I wear basically every day and literally never take off is this wristband.
It’s made from my very first pair of Salomon trail running shoes, which I bought when I got into endurance sports many years ago. When the shoes eventually broke down, I made this bracelet from them. It’s tied with high-strength Kevlar string — non-elastic, extremely durable, and designed to withstand abrasive conditions.
I’ve worn it for about 16 years straight. The only time I ever had to remove it was for a few hours during surgery, when I wasn’t allowed to wear anything.
For me, it marks the starting point of a journey that took me from being a completely non-sporty person to finishing my first ultra trail marathon, a full Ironman distance, multiple running races, triathlons, vertical-up races, lake crossings, and more.
Every time I look at it, it reminds me that with time, effort, consistency, and patience you can achieve almost anything in life. You don’t have to be special to become special.
That’s also something I try to pass on to my kids these days.
Funny enough, nobody actually knows this story — not even my wife. So everyone here on the forum now knows the story behind this simple wristband.
Hope you like it

@Indigo-Alchemist …and that is a great story!!

-
@goosehd Thanks, happy you like it.
I actually started running back then as a way to stop smoking. Every time I felt the urge to have a cigarette, I would put on my running shoes and leave the house for a run.Somehow that simple habit stuck — and here we are all these years later.

So many great Grails. If I had to pick one it would be Big Buck Black. I wear the IHV 44 GA all the time as well, it’s such a versatile piece.

I‘m sorry in advance for a half-assed post today, seeing what everyone else is showing. Super busy today, no real time to prepare. Might show something else later tonight, but here is my Vanson Comet leather jacket I bought in Seattle 15-20 years ago. That was way before life got in the way, but already with my then girlfriend now wife by my side. So it‘s a reminder of my last days of youth, before doing all the grown-up shit like house, kids and the like. In addition to that not my favourite, but probably my most rare IH item, an IHSH-34 hairline hickory shirt, which I was sold falsely advertised as hairline duck. Never seen in the wild since I arrived to IH.

I’m going to jump back in here and give an honorable mention to this watch.
When I was 16 years old (10 years ago,) I went on a family cruise with my dad’s side of the family and that’s when he had the discussion with me. It was time for my first “big boy watch.”
My dad has always spoken to me about watches. It was a passion of his for as long as he could remember.
On this cruise he said he’d be willing to throw in half for a watch so I can start my journey. We saved a few bucks since we purchased it on the cruise and man was I the most excited teen in the world.
I ended up grabbing this quartz Tag Heuer Formula 1. It originally came with the rubber band but I upgraded it to the stainless one.
Since then I’ve had other tags, some movados & an omega that all have been sold— but this piece will be with me until it’s eventually passed down to Ish Jr.

Just for fun here are some pics of the Omega I picked up in 2021 that I have since sold. Me and my dad both got Omegas that day, he grabbed the 007 one.

Here‘s the promised addition - a hoodie from 1995. German punk band „…But Alive“
In the MRMF thread i told the story how punkrock was my gateway to independence in life. The first punk show was WIZO, who coincidentally happen to play Cologne tonight. So I dug out this hoodie for the occasion. But Alive‘s cover art for the first two albums was done by Eric Drooker, a New York based artist. The motive on the back of the hoodie is „On the roof“, of which I have an artist‘s numbered print framed on the wall. More of that in the corresponding thread, now off for a beer.

I want to commend you guys on an amazing week from the pictures shared, creativity in the themes, and the sharing of personal stories.
You guys have proven once again that there are more layers to this onion than what’s on the surface.
Thank you!
️The best is yet to come - faded denim and flannels

The white Wabash I bought here in the forum from @neph93 and my first IH jeans are my absolute favorites.
-
@markus_berlin_ that white wabash is so killer. I really hope they can somehow someway make this comeback.
