Brown leather. - two loved items.
An older Alexander's of Selkirk jacket which I can only wear with a t shirt these days. The special thing about it is the weathered Buchanan tartan lining. This matches my kilt and various other accessories. Love that connection.
The boots are a collab between Grenson and the Japanese 'Foot the coacher'. Recently I swapped the leather soles for vibram wedge and love them even more 😁👌

My dog is wearing her first ever period pants right now - they are not iron heart obviously but maybe something for the future?

@caithangkhanh go larger rather than buy something that fits perfectly on paper, would be my advice. A wash or two and there will be prob be a slight change. If it needs more change, increase wash temp. Perfect initial fit may end in tears 😢

    • RE: Iron Heart spotted on celebrities

@Steve Robert Carlisle is mostly always Begbie in my head... although also quite good at running from fast zombies... A typical train of thought from Begbie:

Picture the scene: The other fuckin' week there, down the fuckin' Volley with Tommy, playing pool. I'm playing like Paul-Fuckin'-Newman by the way. Givin' the boy here the tannin' of a lifetime. So it comes to the, down to the last shot, the deciding ball of the whole tournament. I'm on the black and he's sittin' in the corner looking all fuckin' biscuit-arsed. When this hard cunt comes in. Obviously fuckin' fancies himself, like. Starts staring at me. Lookin' at me, right fuckin' at me, as if to say, "Come ahead, square go." You ken me, I'm not the type of cunt that goes looking for fuckin' bother, like, but at the end of the day I'm the cunt with a pool cue and he can get the fat end in his puss any time he fucking wanted like. So I squares up, casual like. What does the hard cunt do? Or the so-called hard cunt? Shites it. Puts down his drink, turns, and gets the fuck out of there. And after that, well, the game was mine.

This guy can wear Iron Heart well! Although I've learned not to hang about with Begbies over the years...

    • RE: Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades

Over many years of using knives I settled on Spyderco in the main. My daily carry are the bottom four - UKPK and urbans, UK legal carry. I don't often use the middle line - often drawer queens but I rate them all as decent knives, lookers and users.
The top knife is my favourite work tool (I'm an outdoors practitioner, Ranger type) a Fjallkniven F1. Made for pilots but great for bushcraft. This is my spare one... Regular use knife is a bit battered.
Most of my Spydies I've given new scales as you can see 😊 I have other knives but don't want to reach too far down that particular rabbit hole... 😂

This was my first release experience on IH - it did go rather quickly... 😂 Glad I snagged a medium and asked for copper snaps addition 👍

    • RE: Patagonia, Patagucci. Mattagonia....

I've had a love affair with R2's for years. The top three are all over a decade old and still totally fine. R1s are a good mid layer for a hill day but the R2s are perfect in urbania 👌

    • RE: Introduce Yourself Here

I've found myself here through my constant desire to find out what works best. Waiting for my first pair of Iron Hearts to arrive (eBay 2nd hand 777s). I hope they work out. I've been a Nudie wearer for a decade and recently bought two new pairs of Samurai that I returned as they just didn't fit right. Buying remotely is not without difficulty... Other than that, I am a budding Samurai (Iaido 1st dan), work with people in nature, learn shakuhachi and hand pan, collect fountain pens, climb hills, drink weiss beer and do a daily cardinal points gratitude, like any old druid should.
Looking forward to being enlightened on the denims front 👍

    • RE: Tattoos

I had a tattoo applied by a drunk Irish guy over 30 years ago. He was great...but inebriated... I put up with it for about twenty years. I've always said - if you're going to get a tattoo don't ever start regretting it. Anyway, about seven years ago I asked for a cover up job. You've always got to go bigger! ...and it is so addictive, the pleasure and pain 😂 Here's some of it in process.FB_IMG_1490125533769.jpg

    • RE: Leather jackets

@NickD yes sort of... but that's a whole big hornet's nest of debate tbh... There was a lot went on there back 15 years or more ago with Aero and Alexanders. Simmons Bilt are really their own entity rather than a morphed Alexanders. Fedora lounge has a detailed account of all that happened if interested.
Debs from Simmons Bilt is just the best customer service person you could want for 👌

Alexander Leather steerhide. Heavy tank with my woolen tartan (weathered Buchanan) interior. About 15 yrs old now and I can only wear with a t-shirt... But that's okay 😊

Simmons Bilt tail gunner in prairie horsehide. Only a year old. Bought in the shop in Moffat. A supple, lovely leather produced in Germany, I understand. Black cotton lining. This jacket doesn't look out of place anywhere in my opinion. Love it.

Wondering why this type lll, and maybe all of them don't have a hanging loop? I seem to be picking it up off the floor more than I'd like... 😊 IMG_20260331_173124_edit_17631419277517.jpg
