The dog went bat shit crazy when we let her out in the garden last night - turned the lights on to see what the fuss was about…

Guessing the dog scared the bejesus out of the hedgehog (hence being balled up), so I left it in peace to recover.

Speaking of bird's nests, we've had a little hummingbird right outside of our front door, and a few weeks ago her eggs hatched and we got to watch her babies grow up and fledge the nest. This is the day they learned how to fly, and they never came back. We think mom (we named her Josie) is back to lay another round of eggs because she started spending a lot of time in the nest again last week.

@seawolf that's so cool!!! I saw my first of the year hummingbird the other day while I was switching out the feeders in our backyard!

Here's Josie in flight, teaching her baby how it's done. If you look closely you can see the baby sitting on a branch on the left.

@Oaktavia We love the hummingbirds around here. Josie gets territorial sometimes (her nest is safely inside of a bush, but right next to our front door) and she'll protect her nest with a move that we've dubbed "buzzing the tower" where she flies really close to us and we hear the insanely fast flapping (buzzing) of her wings.
