@denim-dawg it’s an amazing set of pictures. Best to the old leather you can see the wabash fabric even better. Can’t wait to see it with my own eyes and camera. And next to my Wabash

@denim-dawg Haha, that jacket has been patinated to death, I´m afraid. Three generations of hard use has taken its toll. Interestingly it is made of high quality goat leather (as is the 1942 bomber suit). Almost as strong as horse leather, but much lighter, I wonder why so few choose goat in their jackets. We made a run of replicas of this jacket in various leathers, from Horween CXL to Shinki horse (now THAT was something). If we were to do it again, we would definately try to find high quality goat leathers.

@HMamen Amazing to hear! I love goat skin - I love to eat goat... and I love goats du roam wine.. Crossing fingers you get to make a new batch of replicas of this jacket! Anyone else keen? @Chap

Hi everyone,
I’m Dan from Germany. I recently joined the forum after receiving the traveling shirt from JB, just like some of you here.
It will definitely get some honest wear with me. I’m planning to put some miles on it, let it collect a bit of
, dust and hopefully some good stories along the way.I’ve actually had the shirt for a little while already and will share a few photos soon to show how it’s been getting along.
Happy to be part of this and great to meet you all.
Dan

Alright, let’s get this started.
This photo was taken about two weeks ago, right after the package arrived. As you can see — I keep calling it a shirt out of habit, but it’s really more of a jacket.
The fit is quite slim and very close to the body. The sleeves were unfortunately quite a bit too short for me, so I just rolled them up a little to make it look decent.
That was the starting point. And don’t worry — over the next few days I’ll add a couple more updates and show some in-between stages. I’ve already done some slightly crazy things with it, so there will definitely be a few stories to tell.

-
@rugged.dan looking forward to it!

-
@rugged.dan looks good already

-
This jacket is really coming alive, excited to see the journey continue!
-
@rugged.dan Happy days, good man! You’re a hero for making it fit and work for you. Can’t wait to see the stuff you’ll unpack on us

Sorry for being a bit quiet here lately, but I’ve been seriously putting in some work over the last few days — especially for the jacket.
To be honest, my garden is less of a garden and more of a full-on jungle. So after winter, this thing finally got the kind of hard use it deserved.
As my contribution to giving the jacket some proper character, I cut back and shredded a little over 30 square meters of grass and wild overgrowth. On top of that, I took down a 25-year-old hedge that was 27.5 meters long, shredded the whole thing, dug out all the roots, and then brought in fresh soil afterwards.
That was my way of making sure this jacket earned its keep.
And honestly — I don’t think I’ve ever beaten up a piece of clothing as hard as this one.
But at the same time, I’ve never owned anything that rewarded hard wear like this either.Day by day, you could actually see the indigo giving way more and more, with brighter contrast starting to come through. Well… “bright” might be a stretch — there’s probably a fair bit of sweat, blood, and tears baked into this thing by now.
But that’s exactly the point, right?
I definitely wanted to make sure that when this shirt finally makes its way to JB, he’ll be able to see exactly where the work went in.
Since it’s getting passed on to the next dude soon, I’ve just thrown it in the washing machine. No way I could send it out in the state it was in otherwise.
I’ll get some photos up for you guys soon.
Stay tuned — this thing’s got some stories written into it now. -

What you’re seeing here is a bit of an unusual item. I normally carry it in the chest pocket of my Iron Heart jacket, and I’ve found that this thing works wonders — it gives you really nice, round pocket fades surprisingly fast.So I figured I’d try it with this jacket too. You’ll be surprised how well it worked.

Sounds like it’s been put to work! And nice update pics! Looking forward to seeing more and eventually seeing it in person
