Would be great to compare it to the tour version 👌

That’s a great idea. Looking forward to this.

        Dear forum dwellers,

Not that long ago my friend @denim-dawg asked if I was interested in joining the world tour of an Iron Heart item. My initial response was
        – Eh?
Knowing the Dawg and his wacky ideas, I said sure. I have never owned an Iron Heart product, but during the years Dundas Footwear exhibited at The Selvedge Run fair in Berlin we got to take a close look at their products. Since then I have always lusted for their stuff.

So it was with some anticipation I opened the box: besides a beautifully patinated shirt there was a can of beer, olive oil and a picture of Per Andersen Bær. I´ll get back to him later.

The picture of Per Andersen Bær was taken in Kautokeino in 1883, and as you can see he is a proud representative of the Samí people. You might also wonder if he is related to Christian Bale...

Anyway: As I have turned 50, the XL turned out to be somewhat lacking in eh, width. My once broad shoulders have dropped a bit, so I figure I´d need an XXL to aviod looking like a stuffed sausage. Instead of using it, I will let it have a little tour at the Dundas Footwear headquarters in Haugesund before sending it to Germany. A bit sad, as it is a beautiful piece in every way. Materials, stitching, detailing is all top notch.

I had to mate it with my grandfathers jacket that he used during WW2 when he was with the Norwegian restistance:

And an american bomber suit I am restoring for a customer who drives a Morgan three wheeler:

@HMamen Thanks for sharing - and pairing - the Wabby with your grandfathers WW2 jacket ❤ That has insane patina. What a history and what an incredible item. That thing is WILDLY COOL.

Good luck restoring the bomber suit!! Sorry it doesn't fit you (my bad), and thank you for the great way to solve it by showcasing it like this. Cheers

@denim-dawg it’s an amazing set of pictures. Best to the old leather you can see the wabash fabric even better. Can’t wait to see it with my own eyes and camera. And next to my Wabash 💙🤍

@denim-dawg Haha, that jacket has been patinated to death, I´m afraid. Three generations of hard use has taken its toll. Interestingly it is made of high quality goat leather (as is the 1942 bomber suit). Almost as strong as horse leather, but much lighter, I wonder why so few choose goat in their jackets. We made a run of replicas of this jacket in various leathers, from Horween CXL to Shinki horse (now THAT was something). If we were to do it again, we would definately try to find high quality goat leathers.
