IH-634S-UHR - 21/23oz Raw Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
I grabbed a pair of these and 888s yesterday, as both are my favorite cuts.
While they won't get much (if any) immediate wear due to temps in my area, I'll be rotating between the pair come next fall like @Oaktavia did last year with his xhs and uhrs.
-
@Oaktavia , I'm in no rush, fades will happen when they happen.
-
Thanks everyone. I'll soak, wash and wear. My first pair of iron hearts were 25oz and I washed out of the bag and ended up with weird marbling.
-
Even though I don’t need anymore jeans had to take the plunge as will be last chance! Sized down one from my usual 777 fit and keeping fingers crossed they are not too straight/baggy for me 🫰

-
@timmyboy recommend soaking your denim before every wash to prevent future marbling
-
Any recommendation of soak/washing inside out? Or does it matter?
-
Remember to stand on one leg and face north throughout the process.
More seriously, I’ve found that top-loading washing machines have a higher tendency to marble jeans than front-loaders, due to them often bunching/twisting around the central ‘agitator’. If you have a top-loader, try pausing the wash cycle halfway through, and checking that the jeans haven’t become tangled up in some weird way that’s going to enhance localised friction during the agitation phase. Unwanted marbling makes Baby Jesus sad.
-
@Alex what happens with a hotter wash (besides presumably more shrinkage)?
-
@RocknRoll yep I do a very light agitation and no spin. Sop up the excess water by laying the pair on old towels.
-
Once washed, lay flat on a towel and then roll tight from the waist. Press all along the roll once rolled. Gets rid of loads of the water and speeds up the drying process massively.
