Anyone got sizing advice on these? I'm thinking of copping some final sale from a stockist, but since they're final sale, obviously want to be sure that I'm doing the right thing. I think I might be right in between sizes: I've got some 888S-21 in tag 33 that have stretched to around 16.75 waist measured the Iron Heart Way, and I'd say these fit roughly right, although they're a bit snug when I have a flannel tucked in and I'm sitting down, like right now...). Would y'all recommend M or L?

I wear a medium in most things and these are no exception. My 888s are 32s and all my other fits are 33. I’d say go with the medium. They do have a drawstring though so if you prefer a looser fit large would work as well.

@schraiber I second Matt's advice, I have a few extra inches than you around the waist and I wish I went for M instead of L (can still make 'em work though)

I have a 33” waist and can wear either. The limiting factor for me is the thigh

my jean waistbands stretch to ~35 to 35.5 and while I can physically fit into a size 32 easy short the elastic is basically fully stretched to get them on. Size 34 in these was the way to go for me.

To me the best approach for this kind of short is an elasticized waistband paired with a built-in nylon webbing belt with one of those buckles where you pull on some excess webbing to tighten, and pull the buckle outward to quickly release tension. As a man who feels naked without a belt, this really is a great thing.

@will6er I have a size medium pair (W30) and I'm around a W33 in jeans...

edit: the waist is good, you should just double check the thigh measurements/rise to be safe IMO
