It’s my daughters first birthday today, we took her to a farm park where she was able to feed the baby cows and goats and pet some of the other animals, special memories

I was on camera duty (hard to believe I’m the better of the 2 of us) so I didn’t have many pics with me in to chose from

Massive forest fires across Quebec, parts of Ontario, and eastern Canada. The sky is yellow and smells like smoke.

These pictures were taken 5 minutes ago and it looks like it should be late evening…

@goosehd this doesn’t look good. If you’re posting here, I guess you’re not in immediate danger, but how close are the fires to you?

@ARNC About 135 km’s away from us. We’re fine, but my eyes have been burning for two days and we are limiting our time outdoors. The local schools are keeping the kids inside and quite a few sports activities have been cancelled.

@goosehd the fires must be pretty big to affect you so much at that distance. Hope they can be controlled quickly and don’t come your way!

Thanks guys, but I think we’ll be fine and I can’t imagine the fires would travel that far. My brother in law has a cottage about 30 km’s away from the fire and was up there last night to check on it. He said everything is fine for the time being and they are calling for rain in the next few days which should help.

I don’t think there will be any issues other than the sky being really odd coloured and tasting like bad scotch…

The smoke is traveling really far I just took a trip north into New York about a half hour drive and you can see the smoke. It is not as bad as what it looks like in @goosehd but I am not as close to the fires. I thought it was a fog at first while driving but when you go outside you can smell that it is smoke.

@goosehd There is currently an air quality alert in my town of Cranford,NJ as a result of the fires in Canada. Smells very smoky outside.

@Jett129 Wow, I didn’t realize that it has spread that far. The local news has reported that tomorrow will be worse than today and the situation may not get better until the weekend.

The smoke is coming down to Charlotte. It was here all day.

The in-laws are out of the cities and towns somewhat, and I was told that is smoke specific, but cannot verify myself
