OK, I think Giles “might” even approve of these.

These healthier oatmeal cream pies have become my go to pre workout snack. They’re way healthier than the old school Little Debbie ones and honestly taste really good.

I usually head straight to the gym from the construction sites, so I’ll eat one or two on the 1 hr drive over. I’m not trying to set any one rep PRs or anything crazy. I just want a little fuel before beating myself up for the next 90 minutes. They’ve been perfect for that.

The little Debbie’s have quite the list of ingredients 😳😳😳

@northsouthdenimguy ill have to try those. I will be switching to afternoon workouts a few days a week this fall and I always struggle with late day energy.

For the curious, here is a great article breaking down the role of macronutrients in athletic pursuits:

The only downside is they’re a little expensive, about $6 for a pack of three. I was talking to my oldest stepdaughter, who’s heading off to college locally, and she loves to bake. I asked if she’d be willing to try making me some homemade ones. If she can get them close to the real thing, I think they’d be even better.

Feel like I can finally post here. I haven’t “locked in” since my last deployment but I have for the past 4 months….finally. I went from 246lbs and I’m currently at 224lbs and in way better shape. I’ve been lifting 5 days a week, and cardio everyday. Eating healthy and high protein. Basically chicken/beef/rice for every meal. No sugar except the occasional ice cream cone with my family. A lot of water too. I probably could have lost more but I’m happy with the progress so far. I’ve lost over 3 inches on my waist and I can actually button my 888s now. All natural, no ozempic/peptides haha

I was recently looking at old photos and how I have changed from a 280lbs power lifting static monster in my 20s, switching to body builder type workouts and my best shape 240lbs in my 30s and then to a more healthy 200lbs from more training functional lifts currently at nearly 50.

My goals may change but will always enjoy throwing weight around.

@northsouthdenimguy I had bicep tendinitis recently and it was a bitch. I switched to supported single dumbbell curls over the back of my upright bench, bout 80 degrees, spammed lightweight side laying rotator cuff lifts and got rid of it after a month or so. Worked for me, everyone is different tho. Good luck with it man

Interesting I’ll have to look at that doing that

After my first session last week, I felt 100 times better. He really got after it today, though. Hoping it will feel even better.

I’m going to use my massage gun lightly this evening, working from my shoulder down through my bicep and forearm, and then put the TENS machine and cold pack after I’m done…
