@Tago-Mago those photos are more helpful to me than you can imagine, as I was also considering the SJ42CP.
Based on your first impressions, do you have a preference between the two.
      Thanks again for your feedback.

@IrishHeart if you have the opportunity to try them on that would be ideal. The olive is slightly slimmer and has a shorter inseam, but that may be a feature of this individual item (except the inseam, I’d expect that to be similar across all pieces). Fabrics are different obviously, but the sateen feels less rigid, though I’d expect the material on the khakis to soften up with wear and wash. Ultimately, I suppose the question is which colour do you prefer?

To note, I’m approx 6‘3“/190cm and the inseam on the olives is perfect for sneakers. The khakis are the slim/straight model

Edit: unlike the orslow sateen fatigues I would probably not reach for either samurai chinos at 25°C

@Tago-Mago again helpful information, and useful about the inseam as I am 195cm.

I was considering them as a 3 season chino as I recently bought the IH747 8oz baker pants for the summer which I love and haven’t taken off since I received them.

          Thanks again for your feedback.

@cyclops haven’t given it much wear yet but I hope it does have some stretch because I went true to size when I normally would get a size bigger like my xhsib

@Denimhead-0 @1WayTrip have any sizing advice on the extra heavy tees? I wear a size L in IH shirts and am thinking of picking up size L in these as well. Since these are so heavy I don’t really want anything too fitted.

Sounds like L will be right for you. I am XL in IH and same in these.

@uclabruin Yeah, both Japanese brands, I would go same size as IH. I went 2XL on both of my Samurai.

I got these for a pretty great deal from Okayama denim. I typically wear a 34 but got a 35 due to availability. I also liked the idea of extra space in the waistband for other reasons too.

I’ve never been a wide fit kind of guy, I typically shoot for a straighter fit. More around the 9-9.5” hem, these are well over 11”.

I wanted to try something different since I’ve been wearing 888’s for the last 500+ days straight and I’ve always hated how restricted I felt in them. In these, there is no restriction. I’m moving in them like I move in shorts.. it’s awesome.

But when it comes to the fit, I feel as if they look too big on me. Today I’ll be hot soaking and washing them to see if I can get any sort of shrinkage.

Update: I will be finishing the IIY5 competition in my 888XHS still. These will be worn after competition assuming they work out for me.

A random impulse pickup at Franklin & Poe. These have been my go-to pair for the past few months. Lots of soaks. Lots of machine washes. Some cold. Some warm. I love this fabric so much. The texture is unique, and I get stopped and complimented all the time. The first week, a guy working the smoothie place at the airport literally yelled from across the hall asking me to walk over so he could see them up close.
