@Tago-Mago really great post illustrating the fabrics! Thank you 🙂

Edit: I love that colour on the Orslow

Picked up one of the super heavy t-shirts. Love the fit so may get the green also for when the weather cools down.

@Tago-Mago those photos are more helpful to me than you can imagine, as I was also considering the SJ42CP.
Based on your first impressions, do you have a preference between the two.

@IrishHeart if you have the opportunity to try them on that would be ideal. The olive is slightly slimmer and has a shorter inseam, but that may be a feature of this individual item (except the inseam, I’d expect that to be similar across all pieces). Fabrics are different obviously, but the sateen feels less rigid, though I’d expect the material on the khakis to soften up with wear and wash. Ultimately, I suppose the question is which colour do you prefer?

To note, I’m approx 6‘3“/190cm and the inseam on the olives is perfect for sneakers. The khakis are the slim/straight model

Edit: unlike the orslow sateen fatigues I would probably not reach for either samurai chinos at 25°C

@Tago-Mago again helpful information, and useful about the inseam as I am 195cm.

I was considering them as a 3 season chino as I recently bought the IH747 8oz baker pants for the summer which I love and haven’t taken off since I received them.

                Thanks again for your feedback.

@Denimhead-0 @1WayTrip have any sizing advice on the extra heavy tees? I wear a size L in IH shirts and am thinking of picking up size L in these as well. Since these are so heavy I don’t really want anything too fitted.

I got these for a pretty great deal from Okayama denim. I typically wear a 34 but got a 35 due to availability. I also liked the idea of extra space in the waistband for other reasons too.

I’ve never been a wide fit kind of guy, I typically shoot for a straighter fit. More around the 9-9.5” hem, these are well over 11”.

I wanted to try something different since I’ve been wearing 888’s for the last 500+ days straight and I’ve always hated how restricted I felt in them. In these, there is no restriction. I’m moving in them like I move in shorts.. it’s awesome.

But when it comes to the fit, I feel as if they look too big on me. Today I’ll be hot soaking and washing them to see if I can get any sort of shrinkage.

Update: I will be finishing the IIY5 competition in my 888XHS still. These will be worn after the competition assuming they work out for me.

A random impulse pickup at Franklin & Poe. These have been my go-to pair for the past few months. Lots of soaks. Lots of machine washes. Some cold. Some warm. I love this fabric so much. The texture is unique, and I get stopped and complimented all the time. The first week, a guy working the smoothie place at the airport literally yelled from across the hall asking me to walk over so he could see them up close.

That wide fit looks pretty good on you, @worn2fade . I’ve been thinking about pulling the trigger on a pair of these. If the thigh measures as advertised, these might be a solid fit for me. Not wide like they are on you, but without the gapping waist that’s typically necessary for me to fit my hindquarters into some selvedge. Tall/big girl problems 😂

@worn2fade I think they look good on you. I tried a pair of these on recently too and they looked about the same on me but I think I tried the tag size down from my usual with them. Overall I liked the legs but found them too high rise for me. I think after you wear them a bit that fabric will start to drape more nicely and look less wide.

I thank you guys for the feedback. I’ve been on the fence about these so your words are appreciated.

@sabergirl / I feel ya 100%. I myself have thicker thighs and a decent bottom so I could really only swing the 888 cut comfortably going TTS. If you have that problem with your other pairs, this one should definitely work. Just keep in mind the rise on these bad boys is HIGH. & the thigh measurement is definitely accurate. I think these would fit much better if I went TTS instead of sizing up honestly… so the bagginess you see here may just be a little dramatic.

@pechelman yeah dude this rise is high indeed but I think I dig the higher rise. I hot soaked & hot washed them today, so I’m hoping when they’re 100% dry tomorrow, they fit a bit more snug. They’re unsanf and one washed though so I’m not expecting a dramatic change. After this and some wear though, I’m sure that drape would look way more appealing.

I’m just super surprised to be able to kick high in the air with denim on lol, the comfort here really is unmatched.

Sadly I missed out on getting a pair of these but i managed to buy a pair of the 25oz so I guess I can't complain. I've only had Samurai's 17oz zero+ denim before and the heaviest denim I have so far is the 888 UHR so I'm keen to see how these 25oz's go. Theyre set to arrive tomorrow!
