@Heritage_Guy this is awesome. I’m a huge OG Dead head and one of my delights was seeing how many others are here on the forum as well. Caught quite a few shows back in the day with Jerry and still listen to em everyday. Was thinking of starting a Grateful Dead thread, but this is prob better with a little wider net. Thanks for starting it!

I never saw Jerry but I've seen Phil and Friends and Dead and Co. numerous times. I try to catch Dark Star Orchestra any time they're in town and have been trying to catch JRAD but it never meshes with my schedule.

Any groups that you have seen lately that you have been digging?

I have seen the OG Grateful Dead with Jerry 100+ times
And I have seen Phish 250+ times.
          Photographed many.
I guess that just makes me old.
          Plus many other shows.
Billy Strings, Goose and Spafford are my newest jam bands I see. Well not so new, but newer.

I saw Spafford last Nov and they opened with a rockin 'Take Your Mama' and then jammed out a second set version of STP's 'Plush". Fantastic band the keyboard player was fun to watch He really gets into it.Spafford BUP.JPG

I have tickets to see Goose this summer, seems we are the same wavelength. As someone that grew up a metalhead I am so stoked to have found the jam scene there are so many talented musicians that are touring these days!

            Cool Trey photo btw.

@Heritage_Guy You need to figure out how to make a JRAD show work out! They're unreal.

Umphrey's Mcgee has been fun to listen to lately. Billy Strings is incredible and always in heavy rotation.

@Heritage_Guy yeah Spafford is great. I lived in the Phoenix area from 2013-2021. Spafford is from there so I’ve seen them locally many times, before they were nationally touring. But they are great. Crazy they never caught on to the masses like Goose did. You can still catch them at small clubs. They have gone through a different keyboardist, bass player and drummer through the years but they have always been and still are great to catch live.IMG_1440.jpeg

Yes!!! Billy Strings is who I had in mind when I added ( and jam adjacent) well also King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

I saw Billy last year on the Willie Nelson Outlaw Festival and his band really stole the show. He jammed out with Sierra Hull who was the opener and she could really hold her own, it was great.

I saw MMJ at the Hollywood Palladium last year. It was the 20th anniversary of the Z album so they played it in it's entirety to start the show.

They were another band I had in mind with the "jam band adjacent"
What fantastic musicians. The drummer has a fun Instagram where he does food reviews in the cities they tour in. He's a big dude so trust his reviews more than food influencers.
