SEXIH25-CPO - Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim CPO Shirt

@kiya Awesome news! Does this one suffer with the same issues that the IH 293 OD had with tight forearms and underarms?

No, this is not a comment we've seen from these CPO shirts and we sold hundreds of them in the spring of last year, so you should be ok!

So for anyone that ended up with the OD CPO the first time around, how was the sizing? Did it end up similar to typical Iron Heart CPOs (Like the 293 OD) or did you have to size up? I'm never quite sure with the Self Edge measurements.
I am wondering the same thing. Im usually an XL but would probably need a XXL for the sleeves and vertical length to work for me but then the chest might be to wide...
-
I just received the SE broken twill CPO and have a few other IH shirts from SE over the years. I get my normal size and ask them to find the XL with the longest body and sleeves. The difference in measurements used to concern me but my theory is IH isn't making their shirts to a different sizing spec just for SE. An XL CPO is an XL CPO, regardless if it is a 292 that I buy from IH or the 19oz SE version. There will be the typical size variation, but unless the IH guys correct me, that's my assumption.

@Phil_NYC isn’t there a general size difference between a regular dyed shirt vs an OD one? Doesn’t the OD one come out smaller because of the process where it takes all the shrink out? I believe I read something along those lines within this thread and that is why OD typically run smaller.? I could be wrong though and misunderstood something that was mentioned.
-
@Ral1121 not always. The OD process does remove most if not all shrinkage from a garment. However, the best course of action is to always measure your best fitting garment (in this case a shirt) and compare those measurements to the posted measurements. Because this is a Self Edge garment, please refer to the way that they measure and measure your shirt the same way.
-
@goosehd yep I am beginning to learn that. I ended up sizing up from what usually is an xxl to a xxxl for this CPO. Should be receiving it on Saturday I believe so we will see how it goes
-
@Ral1121 interested to hear your thoughts as I wanted to but but the XL fits but the sleeves are short and the XXL will fit if the one arrives try at match the measurements

@Gavin666 my 293 and this shirt in the same size are almost the same width at the forearm but they both feel very comfortable in the forearm. I have had other iron heart shirts that are much more snug. I think it will be okay.

-
@catdad1 how similar is this to the 293? Is it visually fairly different? I have the 293 so im unsure whether im doubling up or whether its just different enough etc
-
@cyclops I have lived in the 293 on and off for the last year and a half. It's my favorite shirt and the fabric has really developed over the last couple of washes. I haven't worn this shirt more than a few minutes around the house but it's definitely a different shirt overall. Aside from being an overdyed black cpo, I don't know how similar they are. Softer handfeel, seems like it gives a little more than the vintage 18oz, and direct overdye than sulfur dye. In the selfedge jean thread I saw some report that this fabric has a good bit of give so that could be good if you need some stretch. I have some comparison photos of the two side by side somewhere in either this thread or the 293 thread. If I can figure out how to quote my own posts I will.

@catdad1 all good thanks! Haha im mentally justifying whether to make the purchase or not. I dont mind the shiney brass buttons against the OD either. So just contemplating...
