IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk
-
Reporting back after having these for about 2 weeks.
I was stressed because they were my first pair of IH jeans. Never had anything this heavy + never had anything with tag size 40 before.
After the initial soak and wash--> perfect fit and they just keep getting better the more I wear them. I absolutely love them more than any other jeans I own.
Measurements were quite close to that of my 38 Freenote Portolas and I can confirm that It was the right thing to do to trust the measurements rather than the tag size alone.
They are a little roomier but not baggy by any means. One hell of pair of jeans!
-
As mentioned previously.. after the hem and soak these ended up a little bit longer than the measurement I had in mind. Factoring in the cuff, these are measuring about .5-.75 inches longer than my 888-142od and 633s. I was bit worried but obviously they’re not a mile off, and maybe .5 inches extra isn’t a bad thing with XHS? Thoughts? Brightness all the way up so the fit is visible.

@americanathreads the fit looks great to me, to be honest. I think the hem length and cuff work well. Once the denim breaks in, it’ll be less rigid and drape quite nicely.
-
@americanathreads I agree with the above as well The length looks great and does not look too long at all imo.

-
@americanathreads leave as is my friend. Looks awesome.
-
@americanathreads fit and length are amazing. I am not a big cuffer anymore but with I/B or double indigo I like to cuff because it looks great to me when the jeans are all faded but the cuff is still very dark

Thanks y’all
looking forward to breaking these puppies in. Appreciate the feedback. -

Hi all, new member from Sweden here

Just picked up a pair of IH-888-XHSib in tag 35, I guess I was very lucky(?) because I totally missed the drop date. They should arrive any day now.
Have been down the first inches in the rabbit hole and I’m learning a lot.
First question:
After first soak, approximately how many hours hang dry before first wear? I’ve read that they should be like 30% wet still, but would love to hear real-world experiences.
Thanks!

@Sunnergren welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new denim.
I don't think I've ever worn damp denim after a wash. I wash, I let them dry completely, and then I wear them.
The one time I wore damp denim I got caught in the rain and my denim smelled like wet dog afterwards. I do not enjoy that particular smell.
-
@Sunnergren Super lucky, how an earth did you manage to still find a 35? And gongratz for the score!
-
@Sunnergren. As @Tago-Mago said just wear them after they dry. All those unnecessary and rather uncomfortable rituals do not add up to anything worth spending too much time thinking about. The creases will set regardless if you wear the damp or dry. Enjoy your wonderful jeans.
-
I washed mine with the intention of wearing them while they dried, shrink-to-fit style. After I took them out of the washer I could barely turn them right-side-to. It was like wrestling a firehose. I abandoned any thought of attempting to put them on while wet. But you should go ahead and try it! It'll be a long time before you get a second chance at a new pair of 25 oz jeans!
-
@moskiitto I put my email in for notifications when it was back in stock, I thought that I was gonna wait a year. But maybe someone returned theirs. Anyway, really looking forward to the first 25oz experience.
@Tago-Mago @yannis @goosehd,
Thank you for that, I’m actually worried I will mess something up. This thread have been very helpful
