Ready for my first Indigo Invitatioal with these 633! I had some extra denim from getting them hemmed, so I made a little DIY phone case with the extra denim. I’m no expert by any means, so hopefully it stays together. I’ll be using it once the competition starts. I think the phone case will get a bit more wear and tear, so it’ll be nice to see how it fades compared to the jeans.

Made it out to the LA shop about 10 minutes after opening. I had my eyes on the prize and was able to snag both items that I wanted; Indigo CPO and Indigo 633. The OD CPO looked and felt amazing, and it was hard to resist the temptation. Fortunately, they ran out of my size.
I figured some of you would like to see some shots of the CPO, so I took some quick photos. The 633 are getting hemmed, so I’ll take photos of those when I get them back.
Got to meet and chat with @Giles, @Alex, @kiya, and Demitra. Picked up some free goodies. Drank some drinks. Overall, I had a great time at the party.

Just posting an quick update here. I’ve had this for about 2.5 years. I wore it pretty heavily during the first year, but not nearly as often as I wore my jeans. I’ve always been a fan of the texture. After washing it in the washer for the first time recently, the slubbiness has definitely popped a bit more.
Been wearing this Tom Western a lot recently. Love the character that’s developing throughout the shacket. It definitely still has some sheen and squeakiness to it.

These have been worn for one year straight with just the initial soak; no washes. Typically at this point, I’d just give them a soak with a mild hand wash. I decided to try something new and threw them in the washer on no spin cold wash, after an hour-long soak.
The lighting isn’t ideal, so I’ll try to take some more pictures in natural lighting. I’ll be sending these off to IH for some repairs. In the meantime, I’ll be switching gears to the 888-SBG
Second monthly check in for these SEXIH25-633. The honeycombs are pretty much set and showing more depth. The zippo fade in the coin pocket is starting to pop a little bit more. My left knee is fading a bit more due to playing with my young kids. There’s some very minor roping going on, which I’m excited for. The cell phone case fade is definitely the fastest fading piece in the overall project. Two months down! 10 more to go.
Great to see the activity in here. I purchased the Tom Western SK-13 in April. I’ve been trying to wear it as often as I could in this sporadic Southern California weather. I don’t need anything super heavy duty, so this “shacket” is perfect for me.
Due to these running smaller, I took a gamble on the size when I purchased it. Fortunately, I fell in love with the fit immediately once I received it. The sleeves are just a tiny bit longer than what I’d prefer, but all the other measurements work well for me. I’m currently eyeing the Kakishibu Type 1, so hopefully I’ll be able to add another Y’2 piece.
I wore it earlier this week on a family trip to Legoland, and it was awesome!
I finally had a chance to rock this hefty piece today for a little date night with the missus. I haven’t had a chance to really wear it, so it’s still a bit rigid. It hasn’t really molded to my body yet compared to the broken-in one I tried on at Self Edge. I’m sure that’ll take some time, but for now I’m enjoying the weight of it.
@cyclops a couple of pieces with the same denim with different states of fades. The jeans and cell phone case have been worn/used daily for four months. As you can see, the cell phone case gets a lot more wear and tear. The CPO has been worn intermittently for about six months. It’s a beautiful denim that drapes very softly. Doesn’t feel like 19 oz at all. Hope this helps!

@Oaktavia yea, I’m trying to be more active on posting updates here and on IG. While I was making the post, I couldn’t help but notice that the whiskers and honeycombs are pretty consistent on all three pairs. Then coincidentally, I saw someone else’s post on IG mentioning that fades could be unique fingerprints to us. I thought the at was pretty cool.

I pretty much wore each indigo/black for a year straight. I only washed once at the one year mark. When I move on to another piece to fade, I semi-retire the previous one. I’ve worn the 21ib a handful of times since I washed them, but the XHSib has been stored away while I worked on the SBG. But now all three are stored away so I can focus on the 633 Self Edge collab for the II.
