@Makarwise UK knife law is just crazy. On my list of "cons" for ever moving back to Blighty

-
@nurunuru Yep. Mostly just silly. The suits don't understand knives as the majority won't have any history of using them. Bans and legislation generally make it harder for tool users - a knife for crime just needs to be pulled out of any kitchen block.

Not happy... I've opened this thread 5 minutes ago and now I'm shopping for knives.

Well, this bench made mini adira just somehow showed up at my door this morning…

Giving the autos a drink
And after 10 minutes on the wicked edge, the Benchmade Narrows is a light saber once again

New knife day yesterday, there is a store here called KNifewear that sells Japanese knives mostly, they were running a program to trade in your old Japanese knife for a gift card worth 50% of the current value of it, so traded in my Fujimoto Nashiji for a Shiro Kunimitsu Bunka, maybe not a 1 for 1 trade in size but after using it last night a smaller Bunka (160mm) is a nice replacement for a petty

@Ikeaparty in Ontario and have shopped there online.

This past weeks pick ups…

@goosehd The guys are so great, I guess the equivalent to knives as Japanese denim heads, but also lots of great kitchen tools!

A customer and UK based knife maker Canton Cutler reached out to see if we'd like a knife sample. He used his 21oz off cuts to make the handle!
-
@AdamJ That's incredible, I love the bell logo on the blade too
-
I wish I had bought the previous IH knife w the 21oz micarta handles
-
@AdamJ this would be a brilliant program to offer the forum: send in samples of your own aged IH denim for a custom micarta handled knife. Next level custom knife there.

Picked up this cool little Rivery OTF box cutter and am loving it. You open it manually by sliding forward a handle scale but when you pull back on it, it SNAPS back with authority. Great little fidgety tool.

@Ikeaparty is that a Larch Wood cutting board? Looks just like the ones I have.
-
@chrisjohnnick it is!! I love it

On my travels this winter, I “lost” my knife in Thailand that I have carried daily for about 15 years. It was an old Buck pocket knife with 2 blades and a poking/light prying tool that was very useful. It was gifted to me from an old timer friend who told me it was an old pipe smokers knife as the poking tool was used to clean out the pipe bowl. It was a simple and useful knife. Over the years I have looked at different knives but always thought I already had a knife and didn’t need another.
When I got back home I needed a knife. I went around to the local knife shops and outdoors stores that carried knives to get a look and feel for what was available. I ended up picking a Spyderco para 3 which kind of surprised me as it was very different from my old knife. It’s a nice knife that is very slicy and feels good in the hand. After having it in pocket less than a week I knew I wanted something a little bigger and beefier for work. The hunt was on for a work knife. After hundreds of knife reviews and videos I finally decided on a left handed Chris Reeve large Inkosi that arrived on Monday. I’ve only had it in pocket for a couple of days and already love it. This is also my first left handed knife and I gotta say I really like the natural feel it has! Getting this knife was like the first time I experienced Iron Heart and getting blown away by the quality, material and craftsmanship.
