IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk
-
Mine will be going straight on until the weather gets too warm.
-
@Oaktavia magic dude. I dig the little breakages on the combs of the one knee. I can’t for the life of me get that to happen on my pairs.
-
@Davids_denim it's happening a lot more on my 888SUHR. I read somewhere on the interwebs that the breakage happens to unwashed jeans, but I have been washing mine.
-
@Oaktavia yeah that’s been my assumption but my current pair is still dry at the 6 month mark and has zero damage anywhere.

-
Mine are out for delivery

-
Mine are supposed to come today!! First order with DHL, pretty pumped for these to land!
-
@Giles Аny plans for indigo/indigo products?
-
Been waiting over a year for these jeans and I have done everything to find some other jeans that could take the spot of interest, but to be honest nothing comes even close. I've also checked the normal xhs in person, but even that didn't interest nearly as much as xhsib. That shiny inky navy black when brand new, and then eventually turning into high contrast due to the black weft always being there for contrast, perfect.. I believe I would prefer indigo/black easily even over xhs indigo/indigo.
Thanks for the inspiration on these jeans all of you guys who have posted, really helped a lot.I ordered size 34 and asked for big waist. In hopes for around 34.5" measurement, Alex freeman found 34.6" for me which was perfect. And yeah the size 34, thank god I was ready to rumble right when they were released, didn't miss them luckily.
Mine were already delivered yesterday before midday, that is less than 24 hours after confirming the waist measurements, wow!I've come to realize if jeans are not comfortable, I will simply not wear them, no matter how good they look. And I gotta say extremely happy with the fit. They don't look bad to me at least and I feel surprisingly comfortable even when they are brand new xhs.
My decision is to go for no soak, no wash, no hem, no cuff, full stack, inspired by the one and only @twin. I really enjoy stacks a lot but the heel rubbing when not wearing shoes and then breaking early is an issue. So inspired by haraki I am thinking of going with the half cuff just to save the heel rubbing, don't love the look of that but enjoy the convenience of the no rubbing and I get my stacks. But please let me know if you have other ideas.
First buttoning I took the true experience, with no tools used. At least 30min to get them fully buttoned and as a bonus blister on thumb

Thanks for the read, if you survived here. Happy to see when others get theirs as well!

@moskiitto dude the beginning of your essay there had me thinking you were not happy with these haha. I’m stoked you love them dude & the shipping to you was insanely quick!
I also asked for the biggest size 34 measurements and ironically enough, also got one with a 34.6” waist.
They look great man, looking forward to seeing how you hammer them.
-
Also I know you want to keep them dry but doing that soak will eat up an inch off that inseam. May be worth it for ya, it’ll eliminate part of the cuff you technically don’t want.
-
My pair just arrived! It’s my first 888 cut, I’m usually a 777 guy so it’s going to take a little adjustment to get used to the rise on these, but I’m glad to see that classic slim taper is still there.
I had planned to use these for Indigo Ivitiational year 6, but I heard @worn2fade mention that contest isn’t until 2027? If so I don’t think I can wait. these are too good for me to keep on ice. Also, I notice some indigo loss just from trying them on!
-
Sounds like there is going to be a lot of IB in year 6
-
@worn2fade Haha, for sure love the xhsib too much. You were also big inspiration in terms of fit, since I kind of wanted to go size 35 to not feel tight anywhere, but I know that would been a mistake. I knew I could pull 34 easily since when I compare how yours fit tighter and you hammer them! So thanks for that. Also 888s look so good on you, waiting to see some 888-xhsib fit checks from you when you get them.
-
@worn2fade Yeah this would be the most logical. There is just something about the denim being unwashed and then keeping it dry. Thanks for tips though!
-
Glad I can help dude. Thanks a bunch man! Unfortunately mine will stay hidden away til next year, but I can’t wait either!
-
Okay. I have had major analysis paralysis thinking should I get the duck cargos ( they had silent restock of a few sizes ) or wait for 21oz sbg or od.
I have also been looking at this thread and searching info about the XHSib for several days.
I just decided that fck it I am skipping the ducks and 21oz for now and joining the 25oz gang.
So I ordered size 40, because funnily enough the measurements almost exactly the same as my 38 freenote portolas ( with some extra length and room to grow in thigh ).I don't have a bathtub. Soak recommended but not mandatory? Advice is welcome.
I have a chance to book a communal sauna with dual showers. Does standing in the shower wearing them make any sense? Is that a dumb question? Anyway 25oz lfg. -
@Northman soaking is recommended as they are unwashed. From the product page:
"Sanforized but Unwashed
- Sanforization is a post-weave mechanical process which removes most potential shrinkage from a fabric before garment construction
- However, unlike most of our jeans, we have not washed the completed garment in an industrial washing machine, so some shrinkage remains
- When washed following our care guidelines, expect approximately 1" shrinkage in the waist and inseam. All other dimensions will shrink proportionately to the waist"
If you have a sink or a laundry basket or even a large bucket, then that should work for the soak. I stuck mine in the laundry basket because I had to carry them down two flights of stairs anyway after soaking.
-
Just put some hot water in a bucket fold them neatly and put them in the bucket. Then turn them inside out and put them in the washer no spin or very lower spin if your washer has that option.
-
Anyone ever soak before hem?? I ordered with no hem to ensure 888 cut works for me, curious if soaking before I send them back for a hem would maybe offer me more certainty in a length I like.
Indigo XHS I hemmed before soaking and it worked out fine but was a bit nervous
