Fraudsters

@ Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot Life is always hard when people won't communicate during a transaction. Best wishes to you!

If you see suspicious activity in the marketplace or by personal pm, please contact any of the mod staff as quickly as possible with information about those spammers. We are here to protect you and the forum and can only do so with your help.
Flagging an individual as a spammer is great, but we need to know how and what they are doing before we permanently ban them. Special thanks to @labrat for that information!!

Also got this message... it looks like they were just advertising for their subreddit, annoying lol.

Solid detective work, team

@goosehd Yeah it definitely was spam, I mean he could have just posted in the GAH thread "Hey check out this on reddit!" I'm sure if anyone on here that had some forum activity did that it would have been fine..., but DMing people individually to try promote it was not the way to go about it... Wouldn't be surprised if there's a sales section on the sub and he's trying to pull a fast one! (although I might just be jumping to conclusions)

Got their message too. Understand the rules and quick action to ban, but wondering if they've learned their lesson? Permanent bans with no chance to learn from the mistake are pretty harsh. Saying this as someone who mistakenly violated a forum rule once and got told what I did wrong immediately by DM. Honestly I just didn't see that rule thread, apologized immensely, took responsibility for not seeing it (ignorance is no excuse), and have tried to do better.
Basically, the mods don't need any of our blessing to take action, but maybe they'd be worth a second chance if they respond the right way to the situation. You know, in that whole spirit of trying to build a really cool and accepting corner of the Internet.

@pechelman …and why it’s being discussed in the mod area.
