Wow - that drop disappeared quickly!

How does the 1955 cut compare to the 888. It looks like the 1955 has a higher rise but less tapered at the hem - or are they more similar?

@MarkNo . The high rise is probably the only similarity. The biggest difference is from where the taper starts. The 888 starts tapering from upper to mid thigh all the way to the hem. The 1955 taper starts below the knee.

@MarkNo The 1955 and the 888 are definitely pretty similar but there are key differences that make them wear and look a bit different at least depending on how you size them. The 1955 has a slightly higher rise compared to an 888 with basically equal measured waist size. The taper, someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think the 888 starts tapering more above the knee than the 1955 and the 1955 will taper to a slightly larger opening from my experiences. They’re both great cuts and I’m glad to have been able to get a pair of these with how fast they went. The 1955 for me with the rise and waist size facilitates better proportions with tucking in shirts and keeps a nice pillar-like leg.

Many thanks for the explanations - I managed to snag a pair of 1955s earlier today in my usual size, all my other IH jeans being 888s in 14, 18 and 21oz.

Such a great cut, so stoked to see it pop up in different fabrics. Looking forward to eventual day when a black version of the 1955 cut drops, like a 21oz SBG or 14oz bb or even an overdyed.

Just received these. Very nice denim that feels heavier than 14oz.
