This'll be my first UHF, assuming I'm quick enough to snag one.
Could I get advice from staffers or UHF owners on sizing?
I measured a flannel shirt I own per the Iron Heart Youtube video, and came away with:
Shoulders: 18.25 “
Length: 30.5 “
Chest P2P: 21 “
Waist: 20.25 “
Sleeve: 24.625 “If it helps, I own the IH-526-142 in size 40, and it fits perfectly.
I'm guessing I'm a Large in this. Thoughts?
(Also: hey @Chibs! I came here because of one of your great YouTube videos. Looking forward to the next one!)
The measurements for this shirt are not published yet, but you will most likely be a medium or large, depending on which dimensions are most important to you.
-
@possiblymaybe I think you're approaching this the right way. Getting your measurements is the ideal starting point. In this case, the shirt measurements haven't been posted yet, so any advice is guesswork.
For a comprehensive guide on how @goosehd sizes his purchases, see here:

As soon as the measurements are up you will get a better idea regarding sizing

@possiblymaybe Nice! Welcome to the forum and great choice for your first UHF!
-
Feeling honored that my Herbie Hancock inspired name for this shirt stuck! Can’t wait to see this one in person

-
I had a hunch that was a Herbie Hancock reference.

Thanks all!

@possiblymaybe Be there on time and refresh refersh refresh leading up to the hour, I'm sure you'll snag one and be in for a treat as UHF's are honestly the best. Like someone else has said, the guys will post the chart before release so just check your measurements with the sizes and go on measurement not just size alone... Some IH stuff I size up from my "true to size" in other brands, some I size down, it's not like other brands with the Japanese... These aren't mass produced and are only manufactured in small batches, but you're in for a treat! Also welcome to the forum, I love this place

@possiblymaybe if it was me I would lean towards going bigger, as somebody correct me if I'm wrong but UHF's can shrink (up to half a size?) with time, especially if you put them through the dryer
-
Wait for the measurements to make your most informed decision @possiblymaybe . Bear in mind once you compare them, that depending on how you wash it, UHF can shrink close to half an inch in the chest, or almost a whole size if you machine wash and/or tumble dry. I pretty much always size up in UHF because of this. If you’re already used to treating your clothes like princesses and soaking or handwashing or something, fear not.
-
Awesome fit Sam, what size are you wearing on this amazing flannel?
-

Full disclosure, I do soak/handwash majority of my UHFs

Fully agree. In addition: one thing I learned from experience: even if "middle age spread" does not get you further down the line, most of us do not get slimmer with age, but instead (in the best case) bulk out a bit. While I am not saying you should massively oversize to leave space for your future beer-belly: if you are between sizes the safe choice is almost always to size up (unless we are talking OD without any shrink) Also avoids constant stress when washing your clothing!

@Tobi couldn't agree more--i've been the victim of not following this advice in the past!
-
Is there an updated release date for these?
-
@Foamkiller yep, Tuesday 18th at 1600GMT. You can view the calendar in the navigation for a release date on all products. Plus, if you scroll up you'll see the announcement
-
@Tobi totally agree with this. I used the size guide for the turquiose UHF drop, chose a medium (I like a close fitting shirt) but got a shirt that had sleeves a little shorter than the average on the size guide. Just too neat. Had to send back and no larges to swap cos all sold out of course. Choose wisely

It's not a lie.

Flannel of the season. This one is absolutely beautiful. Glad a lot of stockists are taking this one and hope this means there is generous stock. Would be gutted to miss out on this one.
-
@hugothecowboy I'm wearing a medium here, as it's what I had to hand in the office at the time. I just about get away with it, but I'd prefer a little more room in the chest and arm openings.
I'm 5'8" and around 170 lb — if I were buying one, I'd definitely go for a large to allow for some shrinkage.

Wow, I always thought the camera adds weight. You look very trim for 175kg at your height
