I think it's usually countries with no tipping culture as the debate is usually between service charge or tipping.

in singapore, they do service charge plus gst which are 10% + 9%. so any restaurant you go to that advertises ++, you'd know its that price plus 19%. the marketing then gets you in the door

"Loyalty is a two way street. If i'm asking for it from you, then you're getting it from me."

On a similar rant, when I had my store in downtown Nashville we would get people all the time from other countries that were very confused about sales tax. We'd have something with a tag that said $100 on it and they come to the register with a $100 bill in hand, and it would ring up $109.25. They were understandably confused and sometimes frustrated. I totally get it. I was amazing when we were visiting somewhere (think it was France?) and it was nice just paying the total price that was on the sales tag.

@chrisjohnnick It's BS. Minneapolis as a city has implemented the 20% service charge and then ask for a tip on top.

I am a trained chef and I would hate to work in a restaurant kitchen now, and I would really hate to be a server.

My wife and I avoid restaurants at all costs these days. We simply don't go out to eat for entertainment or because we are short on time or too tired to cook. Those are salad nights now.

IMO the industry is in huge trouble, but there are still tons of people who use food as escapism, and restaurants (dining in and of course Door Dash) tick that box even if they bitch about the tipping culture soon after.

Wondering if anyone was having long delivery times from UPS? Several packages incoming including one from IHUK which is usually 2-3 days here to Ohio. Once my IHUK package(express) was en route(moving) I got a delivery date of Tuesday next week, began moving this past Wednesday. Same for a package coming(and going for a trade) from the West/central USA 8 business days... Usually 3-4. A few weeks ago my IH hoodie had 3 "mechanical failures" in the different places. Seems odd!

The darker the roast, the less caffeine, assuming the same varietal and processing.

I guess beyond the flavor that’s why I love those floral, fruity, acidic, and sweet light roasts. I need my gogo juice!

                                    Think it, be it.

@mclaincausey You are 100% right, the misconception comes from people thinking that they get wired from drinking dark roast/espresso,but it’s from the combination of alcohol and caffeine you may have ingested during the night. If you had a couple of drinks at dinner had dessert,a shot of sambuca and an espresso you might find your heart racing later on in the evening or experiencing what they were calling in the 80s,the Yuppie heart attack.

Recently bought my 3rd belt from Bullhide Belts. The previous 2 are stamped 40 and fit perfectly. Upon trying the new belt, also stamped 40, I was on the last hole. Thinking that’s odd,I measured it against the other 2 belts and it’s 2 inches longer. I reach out to the company they have me remeasure the belts. The older belts are about 38 inches and the new one is in fact 40 inches. I send them a picture of all 3 belts side by side to show the discrepancy in lengths. To which they replied…Those are older belts and we’ve since changed the way that we measure. Use the enclosed form and exchange it for a 38. Thought it would’ve been nice if they offered to cover the return shipping. I paid shipping to get it.
