      Blackbird A-12 Oxcart

I'd never even heard of the A-12 Oxcart, but I knew about the Blackbird. Just found this about both of them. https://www.cia.gov/stories/story/oxcart-vs-blackbird-do-you-know-the-difference/

Yeah, the SR-71 was what was in the public eye, but the arguably better Oxcart remained hidden.

@Matt yeah we are that much worse now even than that. Pretty wild, unprecedented times.

And I disagree that space exploration is a waste of time, or that we can’t do that and other things at the same time.

The hoax argument falls apart if you just do the tiniest amount of research and critical thinking. Multiple contemporary parties, including enemies, were observing the whole thing live at the time. How would they have fooled the telescopes and radar? Why are there still rovers up there that continue to be observed by probes? Etc. it’s seriously flat earth territory if you really look at the facts.

Aren't most conspiracy theories about the moon landings based on the suggestion that NASA had no footage so PR suggested they re-shoot everything back in a studio?

Pretty sure with the amount of people involved it would be hard to keep a hoax a secret - esp something of this magnitude.

I do enjoy people arguing about it. Esp flat earth. Watching a YouTube video does not give you the authority to deny actual science from scientists. Not sure if I should laugh or just hold my head in the palm of my hands.

@Nick I love when flat-earthers conduct experiments and prove the earth is round by accident.

@seawolf that documentary Behind the Curve had me shouting at the TV. “Oh. Wow. The experiment supports the earth being round. The experiment must be wrong!”

@Giles I really wish they would reprint some of his books.

Here is a shot from one of them that used to be a phone wallpaper for me. A coffee table book including such photos and details about the plane would be great.

                                  SR-71 and pilots_Original.jpeg

No question Lockheed skunkworks managed to keep many projects hidden from the public eye, including U2 and the F117. Impressive, though doesn’t lend credence to the moon landing being a hoax.

slightly off thread topic but on topic for the last few posts, if you have any interest in the SR-71 and havent read it, I'd highly recommend Ben Rich's book on Skunk Works.

                                        3. Walk forward and notice how said object appears to rise out of nowhere as you approach.

                                        5. Go back home and read anything but your phone. Preferably a book.

It’s just so easily falsified, you really have to be mentally ill or trolling not to accept what was obvious even to the ancients about our planet.

Another obvious falsification is the earth’s shadow on the moon. Why is it always a perfect circle? Why aren’t we getting weird oblong projections?

Reminds me of a meme I saw. Something to the effect of expecting flying cars by now when a kid but instead having to rage “THE EARTH IS ROUND” at morons.
