@DeeDee85 Self Edge has the 633 cut in the 18od. I’ve got a pair on the way, looking forward to trying them out
-
@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot thanks mate, I’ll have a look
-
When did you switch from this seam to selvedge?
-
I think I first specced a selvedge fly for the IH-666S (the original raw 18oz Devil's fit) and the DC4001. At the same time I asked that belt loops be sewn into the waist band and the rear pockets to be lined. All subsequent jeans I specced, I asked for those features to be included, (though I may have forgotten to request it on some iterations). The IH-634S would have been the last jean to adopt those features (if indeed they even have yet) as it required chagnes to an established "thing" and the Japanese are not very good at dealing with complications like that.
-
That's really interesting, thank you for elaborating, Giles! Does that mean the most recent iterations of the 634s still don't feature a selvedge fly?
-
@RobeOfTheMagi Seems to vary by 634 model. Most say "Selvedge side seams and fly construction" some (like 25oz) "Selvedge side seams"
-
Would it be possible to pay for extra belt loops upon purchase? Kind of like paying to hem, but paying for 2 additional belt loops (5->7). With the same caveat of being non returnable upon alteration.
-
I am sure that would be possible. @josh can certainly do it. THOUGH, it does depend upon him having new denim of the same type. If you are having them hemmed (by enough) them that may be the donor denim
It's quite a big/complicated job though, especially if they are going to be tucked into the waistband.....

@Alex is there any way to (or does it even make sense to...) Have a master link to retailers inventory for Iron Heart items? Sometimes things will end up on "Garmentory" when you google as a landing place for an item. Currently there's a pair of 18oz vintage being sold by Brooklyn clothing.
It's so clunky to go to each retailers website, navigate to the specific item just to see if your size is in stock.
I see an issue being that it may take away sales from IHUK direct if the link shows a retailers closer with it, but I'm asking the question anyhow.

We trialled a system similar to what youre describing on the European website after Brexit. It didn't work particularly well, and the limiting factor was what platform other shops were built on, first of all, but more importantly that the retailers named things in exactly the same way we do, they kept on top of things in the same way we do, etc etc. It ended up not being super useful to the customer, so we axed it.
-
Makes sense. May be more trouble than its worth to get everyone properly aligned. I just had an experience with a SS shirt you are sold out of in my size, so the thought came up as i was browsing the retailers to track it down.
-
@jordanscollected it was harder than I expected it to be to get people to tow the line, especially given it is really them that benefits from it, not us (as you say in your first post), but then if it ends up being broken on our website, it reflects poorly on us, rather than them so it ends up being a double loss for us
-
I wonder if there is an SEO alternative to let Google know who is stocking specific releases. That seems pretty straightforward if this is an important problem to solve. Otherwise just check your favorite stockist!

Aitora actually has the IHJ-109-BLK in stock in XL and XXL. On sale even.
