This week was supposed to be fucking awesome. I was selected as 1 of 10 food industry professionals for an all expenses paid trip to Lynden, WA (outside of Seattle) for a Raspberry harvest tour. The itinerary included dinners at farms and wineries, plant and farm tours, and a ton of other cool shit. I awoke bags packed at 5:00am to a flight cancellation with no options to rebook. Trip cancelled

I called the owner of my business and he is currently driving 12 hours home from Ohio due to a cancelled flight of his own.

What a mess the U.S. flight industry is going through.

Yeah, I just flew to LA and back from JFK, out on Friday, back last night. Friday was delayed 2hours, Yesterday was delayed 4.5hours. Mayhem in the airports still

I'm for sure not alone and it could be worse as I'm hearing from others. For me, at least it was a work sponsored trip and not a family vacation. I didn't book anything under my own name so there is no chasing down refunds. Overall just a major bummer when I had been so looking forward to the fun, food, networking and learning.

On a positive note, I have excess beef sticks and moon cheese in my snack pack that now has no occasion tied to them.

@popvulture I actually got an agent from Delta on the phone after the shortest hold time ever (roughly 10 minutes if that). she said we had no flight crew. Most likely due to your second post re: security patch.

Yeah, everything's borked right now because of that screwup. I have a UPS package that's seemingly stuck in limbo for the moment, I'm guessing because of that as well. Cloudstrike is fucked — in my head I can already hear people using that name as a verb.

I’m going to be pretty fucking disappointed if they don’t have Moon Cheese at Walmart when I go shopping for groceries later.
