@Mizmazzle @Oaktavia weed’s a gateway alright. A gateway to Swedish Fish, Oreos, the kids’ weekend cereal, s’mores over the stove burner and whatever else I can find in the pantry that isn’t nailed down. Not once though have I ever wanted to get in a car and drive somewhere. Or get in a fight with anything bigger than a candy bar wrapper.

@Jett129 we wouldn't be Germans if also this thing wasn't massively overregulated and complicated: You can now legally grow three plants for your own purpose and are allowed to posses 50g at home and carry 25g with you in public. You can join a 'Cannabis-Club', which must be non-profit, can grow plants and give the weed to their members. The idea is not no allow commercial trade. And then the great question is where you're allowed to consume in public, which is e.g. not legal within a radius of 100m of schools, kindergardens, public sports facilities and more. Since you can't really know that, there are apps for it (of course).

@Matt I couldn’t believe how many dispensaries there were out by you and even commented to my wife that they outnumbered the Starbucks. I didn’t go into one until I got to Santa Fe,and it was pretty nice, but I didn’t make a purchase.

@endo Will you take advantage of the "3 plants to grow at home" option? I always throw a couple plants in with the tomatoes....they are great fun to grow and harvest!

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

Even as a nonsmoker, I don’t believe that we can consider ourselves to be free if we don’t have autonomy over the state of our own minds. Given this, the fact that nonviolent people minding their own business get locked up and their lives ruined, and the fact that prohibition only introduces violent unregulated markets, prohibition simply doesn’t make sense unless it’s something like fentanyl that is about as safe as anthrax.

The fact the America has had two constitutional amendments around the failure of prohibition and still hasn’t learned this lesson is beyond ridiculous.

                    Think it, be it.

@IrishHeart Yeah for sure. Way too much vinegar and sugar. My father used to complain, but my mother had the food budget under tight control.

Several years ago a study was done on the effect of cracking down on marijuana usage on college campuses, and they found that it resulted in an uptick in alcohol related trips to hospital emergency rooms. Kind of like what you said, when college kids smoke weed they just want to hang out and eat.

When Alex was at boarding school we were told that the house masters were way more scared about the secret consumption of alcohol than the use of drugs....Possibly, in this instance because it was easy to steal it from the parents when they came home on out days...

If you were so inclined you could hit up multiple polling stations
