A less serious, but no less welcome random announcement… I just had my first proper bacon sarnie for many bloody years. White bread, butter, HP sauce, streaky bacon.

@AdamJ That's my lesson for today. I've often heard the term brown sauce used, but haven't thought about what it actually was. I never realized that brown sauce equals HP Sauce.

In Norway it is the only brown sauce available and you can only get it in the classic glass "restaurant" bottles. Especially ironic as you generally found them in greasy spoons. I was actually brought up on Daddy's Sauce. Don't know if that even exists anymore.

I only twigged that the HP stood for "houses of Parliament" recently. I don't know how many times I gazed at the picture of the houses of Parliament on the bloody bottle without realising this.
