I don’t like the main dude, his face make me angry. That aside, I’ve never like the world of restaurant culture. When someone says “Yes Chef!” It makes me want to 🤮.

I’ve heard it’s a great show but I can’t see myself watching it sadly.

@Matt I've worked in kitchens for 20+ years and that was never the norm. Only the executive chef gets "yes Chef" and not all the time, only when responding to some type of direction/instruction.

I'm in the Industrial/foodservice world now and i do get "nice to meet you Chef" and also address someone new that way myself when i first meet them, but it's not an always thing.

The Bear makes me cringe with its usage too, but if you can ignore that aspect the show is legendary in the gritty, maddening, emotional way its shot and written/acted.

I mean they directly address that he’s trying to implement a brigade, coming from a fine dining background, in a steak sandwich place so yes/oui chef makes total sense in that context. There is even pushback from the cast members so I’m not sure what is cringeworthy about it: they overtly address the whole thing.

          Think it, be it.

Shogun is the only show on right now that has my interest. Acting and production value are top notch. The way they are telling their story is very captivating. Not since GoT sans last season have I thought this about a TV show. The story telling is very layered, and the pacing is impeccable. Hiroyuki Sanada performance has been awesome, only rivaled by Anna Sawai's performance she has been excellent.

            Cheers! 

@HeavyGenes Have you tried Tokyo Vice? The second season just wrapped up and they may not make more. It's one of the best shows on TV and it flew under the radar for most.

@HeavyGenes agreed I just watched the latest episode, I’ve found it fascinating, some really incredible tense scenes too. I can see myself watching this again. Anna Sawai's Performance has been mesmerising.

I watched both seasons of The Bear and the went back and totally rewatched Season 1 and several episodes of Season 2.(Forks and Fishes)The first time around I missed a lot of stuff in Season 1 that’s referenced in Season 2. The creator of the show is,apparently, a real denim head, and the star is just learning about it. Maybe get the creator guy on Iron Cast.

Mr. Bates vs The Post Office looks good. Haven’t seen any of it yet but looks great. It’s got Toby Jones in it who I thought was great in The Detectorists.

Started with 'Ripley' and also found Andrew Scott great but oddly old for that part. Paused after S1 and watched the '99 film once again (with Matt Damon and so on), such a brilliant film. Still have to decide whether I want so keep on with the new series.

@endo - bear with it. I wasn’t sure after the first episode but stuck with it. It takes its time but worth sticking with it. Scott being too old is an issue though but you will end up forgetting about that.
